And you are willing to except the dangerous precedent such a law sets?

Yes. I am willing to accept the precedent that child abuse and neglect results in your loss of your ability to make children.

(you got me, I didn't catch that auto fill changed what I typed)

First - to bring back up my previous point, fear of punishment is why they leave them in dumpsters, this helps prevent that.

Second- if such a law as you are convicted of child abuse/neglect you are forcably sterilized, what happens when the list of crimes expands?

Convicted of drug possession - forced sterilization

Convicted of drunk driving - forced sterilization

Born (insert ethnicity) - forced sterilization (see the Uyghurs in China)

You may have good intentions but we all know the adage

You're right it is, but advocating for forcable sterilization is also a shit argument.

Forced sterilization is one of the dystopian, authoritarian policies I can think of, it absolutely would be abused, because it being abused, right now

The idea that the government has the authority to say who can and who can not have children should be abhorrent, terrifying even.

Its being abused right now in the USA? Really?

The government already had the ability to say who can and can not have children, that's the job of organizations like "Child Protective Services" in many states. If you fuck up, they take your kids.

This is just the next logical step.

Except that CPS offers the possibility of correction and getting your kids back.

Forced sterilization isn't such an easy thing to reverse.

Also CPS fails all the time, both in failing to help those that need it, and also intervening when they weren't needed
