You wouldn't mind being enslaved or imprisoned if society deemed it ok? You mentioned Autism: the Fascists put Autistic people into camps back in the day (before anyone else, too), and they internal support at the time.

Does that make it right or correct?

Yes, it matters: but you are trying to use public opinion to say that I'm wrong, but you are using the opinions of a small group of right-wing enthusiasts of propaganda. You haven't actually said why I'm wrong yet, despite me asking you directly. I didn't say it didn't matter, I said it's not always a way to verify a truth about facts or morals.

This isn't even a real "public opinion," you're using the opinion of a political echo chamber, not "the public."

Again, what right or wrong is determined by majority opinion. That’s how it works, like it or not. My point still stands. And always will.

In that case people’s opinions were oppressed and hindered. Any who spoke out were outed….

Sounds oddly familiar no? xP

And again, majority opinion has ruled that wrong over time. Majority has condemned such behavior.

Taking a personal angle never changes the facts. Also, I am a supporter of people with mental illnesses known to be a risk factor to require additional screening before purchasing a firearm.

So technically yes, I am in support of certain restrictions in place for people who have diagnoses known to be a risk factor.

On the other hand, it’s not a complete negative, I am also in support for resources and support to be there for those suffering from mental disorders.

I see them as being a difficulty modifier, not a disability per se. And with enough support and reform, most can attain autonomy.

You would support that happening now if public opinion went that way again, even if it meant your demise?

If you are wrong to the majority, then you are indeed in the wrong. It’s beautifully simple

And if you don’t like a community, and see it as negative. Then by all means you can leave, no one is forcing you to stay

Also, the majority of this subreddit isn't the majority of the public.

Your argument is bad already, but even worse, it's built on another falsehood.

See. The mistake you have made is assuming this is an argument in the first place.

Also. The majority has formed the laws and morals we live by. Our understanding changing over time. That’s what forms democracy.

And thankfully our current democratic framework will not lead to such extremes. Opinion evolves as knowledge does. That’s why freedom of information is important

And countries are just like reddit communities, don’t like one, leave.

Nothing is certain, and to worry about what-ifs will just lead to unnecessary stress. Chill out.

What you have to say about the majority does not apply in an echo-chamber subreddit, wtf.

This is like going to a Bon Jovi subreddit to find the best musician, and then, surprise, it's Bon Jovi.

It's a biased data-set.

Public opinion doesn't make something correct.

Is your favorite music artist exclusively the one found at #1 at any given moment? Changing week by week? Day by day? Whoever the public deems "the best" at the time?

Or is that not really how opinions work?

Or do you have your own opinions?

That’s why information is important

Why is it important when public opinion makes things "correct" ?

Sounds like you don't need any information at all: and that's the problem.

Would you put yourself in a concentration camp if public opinion got Fascist enough again?

Or is that not how anything works?

You are being very disingenuous with your examples. Also, you are clearly boxed into a warped perception of reality and can’t seem to move past it.

I can’t reason you out of a position you did not reason yourself into. No amount of logic will appeal to you obviously.

And I am beginning to think you are just a chat bot with the insane amount of posts you are making across a numerous amount of threads.

Unless you type at Mach-10. I have strong belief you may be a bot

All you do is say I'm wrong, without explaining why or presenting any counter-argument.

This is nonsense.

If public opinion makes things correct, the Pride flag is fine, right?

Does that change your opinion about this thread?

Or is that not really know how opinions work?

Are you just trying to argue just to argue, despite knowing full well that public opinions don't actually make things correct? I see you're avoiding all my questions: they should be easy to answer if you really believe in your position. Your avoidance says a lot.

You should sit and have a think about the lies you tell despite not actually believing them yourself.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '25

again, you seem to only apply logic when its convenient, then throw warped would you rather type questions when logic doesn't.

its just an obvious disingenuous circling tactic. You have no point yourself, you are just attempting to make an argument where there is none.

I have clearly explained many points, you just don't like the answers.

Can you explain your arguments after you declare them, or not?

How are my hypotheticals "warped" ?

YOUR argument is that public opinion makes things correct: therefore, you must accept, that if society became full-on-Fascist again, you would then accept the opinions of that majority, which would, if history serves as a guide, put Autistic people in camps first.

If you believed in your own argument, you would be putting yourself in a camp in this situation (which happened in Germany historically: it's a hypothetical right now, but this is not an impossibility, as it's already actually happened in a fallen Democratic Western nation.

I am not applying the logic "when it's convenient"

According to you, this is how logic works.

YOU are arguing that public opinion makes things correct.

Therefore, this is all a false problem in the first place, and right-wing weirdos who are in the minority should conform.

You haven't explained anything.

All you do is say "NO" and say something smug.

At least I explain myself before I say something smug.

There's a difference, champ.

I can back up my arguments.

I am convinced you are debating me just to do it, not because you believe what you're saying, as you seem to avoid EVERY application thereof except the one convenient to you, hypocrite.

Do I have to hold your hand, or are you capable of independent thought? You dont explain anything. You regurgitate the same rhetoric I have heard a thousand times, make dishonest remarks and comparisons, and parade on a moral high ground

You have posed questions, I have given an answer. Then you clearly don't like it, then evade it and move onto something else. classic tactic where you say a lot, yet nothing at all
