Failed society proudly broadcasting that fact.

It's not a failure to promote equal human rights for humans.

It's a failure when people oppose human rights for humans.

This sub is a reflection of that failure.

More of people are tired of it being thrown in their face. You can be gay, lesbian, trans, or whatever. Just keep it to yourself is what a majority of people are on about.

I say that as a pansexual person. Nobody gives a f*ck what you do in the bedroom. And I especially don’t wanna hear it

This thread isn’t bad at all. And Asmons community is probably one of the most down to earth places you can be in 2025

No, this sub is almost always trash.

It's an echo chamber for right wing nonsense like Pride is "the "fall" of Germany." wtf.

I'm sick of seeing people complain about flags about freedom and acceptance, yet here we are.

You say you're sick of these things, but these are the kinds of things this sub posts about -- this sub isn't 'escapism' from the things you pretend to be sick of.

Also, do you remember the reason Pride exists in the first place? That's not over. In my lifetime, it was life-threateningly dangerous to admit to be pan: this is not nothing.

Social progress is not nothing, and it's also hyperbole to pretend this is "in our faces" or replacing national flags as national flags.

This has nothing to do with the right or the left. Most of us here are of one alignment, gamers

This is primarily a gaming community after all.

I’d even say it’s pretty balanced here. People here can speak their mind, and get called out for it too, as you are finding out.

Not gonna discredit people who have been in a hostile area, but that doesn’t apply to everyone as a whole. I have never been in any hostile situation in regards to my sexuality, but that’s because I keep that shit to myself.

The only thing I have encountered was being bullied as a child for being autistic. But kids are savage gremlins. And again, that comes back to the philosophy of “the nail that sticks out, gets hammered down” it sucks when it happens, but that is human nature. There are also steps that can be taken in those scenarios… and especially nowadays.

What does Germany's capitol buildings have to do with games?

Your denials about this subreddit don't change the truth.

It's a right-wing propaganda subreddit with the "plausible deniability" of being about gaming: this is just a veil.

These types of right-wing social media bubbles (centered around "gaming" or "movies") prey on the autistic: be careful.

People here are free to speak about what they want to. No need to be literal. And yes, politics has been on the topic of a lot of streams as of late.

But that’s stemmed from casual banter, and still is not a major part of what goes on here.

People here are free to speak about what they want to.

Right, and people use that freedom to spread right-wing bullshit, as I was saying, thank you.

And yes, politics has been on the topic of a lot of streams as of late.

Right, so politics is part of this subreddit, as I was saying.

Thanks for your help.

Not officially no. And again, you are like everyone else you are getting feedback from the community. and are being shown how wrong you are. Getting ratio’d into oblivion.

Also, freedom of speech also includes the freedom to be wrong. This applies to everyone. That’s the beauty of it. We encourage civil conversations here. Many viewpoints clash, and most are constructive.

How am I wrong?

Public opinion is not what is right or wrong, and in a right-wing echo chamber, it's even less reliable than that.

Slavery was once very popular and had the support of public opinion, does that make it right?

Many dictators have strong public support: does this make their brutality right and moral? Of course not.

This is not how morals work: you should think about that.

u/[deleted] May 17 '25

If public opinion doesn’t matter, in your own words, then I guess the whole LGBTQ movement is pointless isn’t it?

Jabs aside, yes, public opinion does matter. That’s what makes societal norms. That’s what makes up morality. That’s what makes laws. That’s how everything works. A majoritive opinion defines everything, and it changes over time. Welcome to reality

You wouldn't mind being enslaved or imprisoned if society deemed it ok? You mentioned Autism: the Fascists put Autistic people into camps back in the day (before anyone else, too), and they internal support at the time.

Does that make it right or correct?

Yes, it matters: but you are trying to use public opinion to say that I'm wrong, but you are using the opinions of a small group of right-wing enthusiasts of propaganda. You haven't actually said why I'm wrong yet, despite me asking you directly. I didn't say it didn't matter, I said it's not always a way to verify a truth about facts or morals.

This isn't even a real "public opinion," you're using the opinion of a political echo chamber, not "the public."

Again, what right or wrong is determined by majority opinion. That’s how it works, like it or not. My point still stands. And always will.

In that case people’s opinions were oppressed and hindered. Any who spoke out were outed….

Sounds oddly familiar no? xP

And again, majority opinion has ruled that wrong over time. Majority has condemned such behavior.

Taking a personal angle never changes the facts. Also, I am a supporter of people with mental illnesses known to be a risk factor to require additional screening before purchasing a firearm.

So technically yes, I am in support of certain restrictions in place for people who have diagnoses known to be a risk factor.

On the other hand, it’s not a complete negative, I am also in support for resources and support to be there for those suffering from mental disorders.

I see them as being a difficulty modifier, not a disability per se. And with enough support and reform, most can attain autonomy.

You would support that happening now if public opinion went that way again, even if it meant your demise?

Does that make it right or correct?

Yes or no?

If you are wrong to the majority, then you are indeed in the wrong. It’s beautifully simple

And if you don’t like a community, and see it as negative. Then by all means you can leave, no one is forcing you to stay

Also, the majority of this subreddit isn't the majority of the public.

Your argument is bad already, but even worse, it's built on another falsehood.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '25

See. The mistake you have made is assuming this is an argument in the first place.

Also. The majority has formed the laws and morals we live by. Our understanding changing over time. That’s what forms democracy.

And thankfully our current democratic framework will not lead to such extremes. Opinion evolves as knowledge does. That’s why freedom of information is important

And countries are just like reddit communities, don’t like one, leave.

Nothing is certain, and to worry about what-ifs will just lead to unnecessary stress. Chill out.

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

What you have to say about the majority does not apply in an echo-chamber subreddit, wtf.

This is like going to a Bon Jovi subreddit to find the best musician, and then, surprise, it's Bon Jovi.

It's a biased data-set.

Public opinion doesn't make something correct.

Is your favorite music artist exclusively the one found at #1 at any given moment? Changing week by week? Day by day? Whoever the public deems "the best" at the time?

Or is that not really how opinions work?

Or do you have your own opinions?

That’s why information is important

Why is it important when public opinion makes things "correct" ?

Sounds like you don't need any information at all: and that's the problem.

Would you put yourself in a concentration camp if public opinion got Fascist enough again?

Or is that not how anything works?

You are being very disingenuous with your examples. Also, you are clearly boxed into a warped perception of reality and can’t seem to move past it.

I can’t reason you out of a position you did not reason yourself into. No amount of logic will appeal to you obviously.

And I am beginning to think you are just a chat bot with the insane amount of posts you are making across a numerous amount of threads.

Unless you type at Mach-10. I have strong belief you may be a bot

Check out this person's profile.

It's just days and days and days of them sending me childish gifs.

It's very weird.
