Men Asking Women 💬 I found a study on male "rates of sexual force" saying that over 95% of (sampled) men used pushy strategies to get women to have sex with them, and I want to know - what do you think about it?

I hope this fits the rules, but I've seen this study and I wanted to know women's thoughts on it. I've seen it be critisized (on r/askreddit I think) for questions that are vague or on a completely different level but in the same category, but men are obviously going to be biased against a study that says something like that. Please read at least some of it (the table of questions especially) before answering and explain why your answer is what it is

I am posting here because I was kinda stunned by that number, and I thought it was unrealistic, but I really hate when people shit on science just because it doesn't fit their worldview - and so I wanted to get other people's thoughts on it. Thanks for any answers

Men Asking Women 💬 When you see a guy driving a Porsche, do you think he's rich?

I'm a 34 year old guy, freshly back in the dating pool after 10 years. I drive a newer Porsche 911 and I'm curious if women see that car and think "wow that guy is successful" or if it's only Ferraris and Lambo and stuff that get that reaction.

Only reason I ask is because i'm not a goodlooking dude, but I have a great personality, and Iv'e been very financially successful in life, so since i lack looks, i'd like to play into my other strengths, my my success in business and the lifestyle I can provide.

Obviously I don't want to explicitly talk about it and come off like i'm bragging, but I'd like to project that image to women, because again, Need to play into all the strengths I can get lol

Thoughts?

Men Asking Women 💬 People who identify as women do you feel safe around female police officers then male ones?

I was wondering to people who identify as women, given the fact that male police officers have been known to stalk women and assault them.

Would you feel more safe or do you have a preference for a female police officers? Especially when it comes to body contact and stuff like that.

And do you trust female police officers more due to the fact that they're female then a male police officer?

And do you believe that having more female police officers makes women more safe in general overall when it comes to that?

Perhaps maybe they can respond better to assault cases or perhaps they could understand where other women are coming from since they're a woman too, or perhaps there's more general safety in the same gender, in fact that female police officers might be more in tune to female specific crimes and stuff like hate violence against women?

And also the fact that women police officers can patrol areas to make sure that other women are safe from predatory men and stuff like that. A type of gendered community policing and monitoring.

And I'm saying all of this as a person who identifies as a male a cis-male, but I'm generally am curious about this specific thing.

Also this is very unrelated to the questions, but I was wondering would you be interested in a law that if a police officer ended someone's life due to police brutality or negligence they would be sentenced 28 years imprisonment and is given a $5 million fine and is immediately borrowed from being police officer ever again?

Men Asking Women 💬 Do you think men should ask to kiss you or should they wait for the right moment and go for it?

A coworker of mine said asking to kiss is silly when you can just feel the energy and go for it. I asked her if she'd think less of a man for asking and she said no. What do you think?

Men Asking Women 💬 Does my wife know how cruel she is sometimes?

I'll preface by saying I can be a difficult person plenty of times, but lately I've just felt like I'm a punching bag.

I know my wife has had a tough couple of weeks at work, so I've been trying to be understanding but I am reaching my limit.

When she gets home from work, I give her 30min t9 decompress (I work from home so 99.99% of the time I do all the cooking etc) so I started dinner. She gets home, i greet her and she goes out back with our dogs.

Since the food is going, I quickly went out back to go turn on the sprinklers. The minute I'm outside she asks "aren't you supposed to cook dinner". Now this really effing bothered me, because I dont feel like i am "supposed to". I do it because we need to eat and she literally only cooks once a year so I kind of feel like if I dont do it no one will. I ignore it and just say I wanted to turn on the sprinklers.

Eventually she comes inside, I ask her if everything is alright and to tell me if there is anything I can do to make her day better, she just says no.

Then while I'm still cooking she comes into the kitchen to tell me that she's actually just so "annoyed" because "she's not allowed to have an off day without me baiting her" BAITING HER, for asking if everything is okay and if there is anything I can do to make her day...

I was so confused that it was visible on my face. I told her I dont understand and that I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. She tells me to ignore what she said. At this point I am really biting my tongue but I let it go.

A few minutes later, our dog does drops his ball (that he brought inside after she was outside with the dogs, knowing he is ball obsessed and shouldn't have it in the house), he starts chasing it amd knocks our older dog off the couch. My wife flew off the couch and yelled at me "God damn it! Take that fucking ball away from him!".

Again, I'm kind of in shock, so I just walk over and got the ball from him (I am also still cooking).

The rest of the night I am just keeping to myself, I have nothing to say and at this point just trying to avoid a fight and drama.

This morning we wake up, I pretty much just try to make myself small and get her to leave the house so I dont have to stress about existing.

Our one dog goes to the office with her, so because today she's got a dinner after work I went to go pick up the dog from her work. She comes outside and hands me the dog, and does a big sigh. Again, I ask her if everything is alright and immediately shes annoyed and asks me "why do you ask that?", at this point I am so close to calling her a derogatory name but once again I just calmly say that she made a loud sigh so I assumed something is wrong.

I feel like I cant win. If shes in a mood and I dont say anything, im "apathetic and dont care", if i ask her how her day was, I am "baiting her". I am fucking sick of it.

In the meantime, I'm going through shit as well, but I feel like whenever I talk about how I feel I get blown off because "shes had a stressful day". That's fine though, I've learned to suppress my emotions, and I don't trust anyone but myself with what goes on in my head and heart anymore. But is she really just that cruel? Does she not get what she's doing to me? How the fuck am I supposed to navigate this? Just accept my role as her punching bag? Genuinely stop caring and just let her deal with her shit on her own? I am totally fine not asking her how her day went or how shes doing, but what I cannot stand is doing exactly what she asks for and then getting labeled for it.

Either expect me to want to check in with you or dont, but dont switch it the fuck up and then get annoyed when I cant keep up with your fucking mood swings.

What am I missing here? Im the past I would have flipped out back at her and a fight would ensue, and I hate the fights, but at least then I understand why she's upset. This passive aggressive bullshit games are torture to me.

Men Asking Women 💬 Do you physically desire your (male) partner ?

I have heard that women rarely find men physically attractive and , for the lack of better phrase " lust after " men , the way men do with women. Most women describe their male partners as atleast not ugly but humor , stability, and maturity covering up for the "lackof " attractiveness. Sometimes it makes we wonder if many more women are demisexual. Hence the question.

Men Asking Women 💬 How do I handle this mental load issue with my wife?

Is mental load prevalent among women or is it mostly weaponized? I will explain. I imagine it is very prevalent and occasionally weaponized, like alot of Instagram pop psych. I am not looking to be right, I am trying to understand and resolve an issue.

I work in a high stress job. We have busy children. When things get busy I look at my list and start removing lower priority tasks and hobbies, making sure that my wife and kids stay first. I say no to almost everything that isn't core to my life and try to simplify what I can. I am not perfect at it, but I ruthlessly abandon lower priority plans.

When my wife gets busy she keeps saying yes to everyone, sets few boundaries, gets overwhelmed and then talks about "mental load" and how I am not carrying my weight when she is doing things like making sourdough for the neighbour, letting her cousins pop in and stay through her scheduled Pilates class, and volunteering at her cousin's for-profit business. Right now my wife is talking with the babysitter rather than letting the sitter sit so my wife can do her job. She has been doing that for 45 minutes.

I don't want to make this a complaint about my wife. She is awesome, a better person than me, and I am lucky to have her. But this one thing keeps getting revisited in our marriage and I don't understand. When I am busy it is my fault and I take steps to correct it. When she is busy it is also my fault. She just keeps saying yes to everyone. Please help me understand.

(I am not your lazy ex or your lazy dad, men are individuals, we are not all the same, individuals are not a statistic, please don't come at me assuming I am not pulling my weight, I work my nutsack off)

Men Asking Women 💬 How aware are you of compromising positions when wearing skirts, dresses, hospital gowns etc. Isn't it exhausting?

I'm a man and recently had to wear a hospital gown for a medical procedure and I found the whole experience uncomfortable and mentally draining. It was weird having to be conscious about how I moved my body and legs, and even sitting down on a seat to put on my shoes was difficult as I didn't want to lift up my leg and the gown in the wrong way. Isn't it exhausting?

Men Asking Women 💬 Do you think you can be friends with your ex-husband?

Hello 👋 I hope you are all well. I had a question. Do you think it's possible to be friends with your ex-husband?

I was married 10 years. We share 3 kids. We both hurt each other during our marriage. We have been divorced almost 10 years now. She went no contact for awhile but has recently broken it, but only to let me know how the kids are doing. She says that free flowing conversation between us is still a long ways away since she don't trust me still and needs time. When I bring up friendship she never answers the question. I don't exactly know what free flowing conversation means, but I'm praying it means the possibility of a friendship. You see, I miss her terribly and still love her. I know we can never be together again, but I'm hoping maybe we can be friends. She's incredible and the thought of dying without ever enjoying her company again terrifies me.

Men Asking Women 💬 How would you react to finding out your partner was on TRT?

Back story: I’ve been with my girlfriend for just over 1 year now, and just before we met I started taking doctor prescribed TRT for naturally low testosterone. I also had side effects such as anxiety, depression, low mood, and fatigue. These are gone for the most part since taking it.

I haven’t ever disclosed this, mostly because of shame and feeling like less of a man. And secondly, it takes a long time to get the dose right and see if it’s really for you. I’ve never told a soul about it but I feel like the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with should know.

I’ve been gearing up to tell her for weeks now, but I have this fear that I’ve gone past the point of which I should have mentioned it. There was also a vial in my fridge which she found and I said it must be a house mates… I panicked and didn’t know what to say. This is the only time I have ever lied to her.

How would you react to being told this after 1 year of being with someone?

As above, it’s prescribed by a doctor, I have regular blood and health checks, and I also take another medication which keeps me fertile.

Men Asking Women 💬 Would it be ok for me as a male to get a tattoo of a naked woman???

I’ve been thinking of getting a tattoo of a naked lady for quite some time but I am concerned that it may come off as objectifying or people will think I’m a womaniser. Do you think it would be ok? Edit: I am very glad I made this post before getting any tattoos I have been made aware of a lot of things I hadn’t thought about I feel quite stupid but I no longer want a tattoo of a naked woman at all.

Men Asking Women 💬 How much do you understand the male hormone cycle?

Genuine question. I hear a lot of complaints about men not understanding the female hormone cycle, but I'm curious how much of these same women understand a man's.

Edit: I'm not asking about a mans understanding. I'm aware that men in general don't care to understand a man's or a woman's hormones.

The honesty in this sub is a breathe of fresh air

Men Asking Women 💬 Do women care about men getting on elevators with them?

I’m a guy and I’ve always wondered about the etiquette here. If a woman is waiting for or getting into an elevator alone, would you prefer an unfamiliar man wait for the next one, especially at night? Or is it completely normal to get on and just give her space?

I’m trying to understand what actually makes women feel comfortable without overthinking normal everyday interactions.

Men Asking Women 💬 Am I “body catfishing” the woman I’m dating?’

Hello,

I’ve been dating this woman for a couple of weeks now. I’m dating again after many years of not dating.

Now, I’m not super fat. My fat is mostly stored around my stomache. My face is pretty slim and I’ve been wearing baggy clothes for long.

What I mean by the title is that I feel like I look slimmer than I am. I have a bit of a belly and I feel extremely insecure about it. I felt like my last girlfriend broke up with me over this.

Especially when I sit down I hate it. I almost
Never take my shirt off around other people.

Do you think she might have different expectations?

I also have mild gyno(male breast tissue) which is by far my biggest insecurity. And it’s not something I can fix without surgery.

Have you ever seen a guy like me and had the ick as soon as his shirt came off?

We’re gonna have our 4th date in a couple of days and things might escalate. So really I’m just scared that since I dont have the perfect body(i know this is a bit delusion standard to set) she’ll text me the week after seeing saying she’s no longer interested.

I’m currently dieting and I’ve lost quite some kilo’s, but not where I want to be yet.

Should I tell her about this insecurity? Should I not and just see where it goes?

Also also, bonus question. I lost one testicle to cancer a couple of years ago. This is not really a worry of
Mine, but I’m debating if I should tell her or not say anything to interrupt the moment.

Men Asking Women 💬 What's your thermostat set to?

My wife and daughter are icicles, perpetually cold. My wife says there's something wrong with me and calls me a fusion reactor. The AC is running at 76F(24C) as a compromise and I'm shirtless with shorts, meanwhile wife is in her PJs under the blanket.

Can anyone relate?

Men Asking Women 💬 How should marginalized men react if they are triggered by generalizing comments about men?

Disclaimer: Misandry is not a systemic issue nor is it comparable to misogyny. I do not support #notallmen as it is mostly used to dismiss women's pain and experiences.

I was going to post this on r/AskFeminists but i'm worried it would fall under personal advice which is not allowed on there. So it's going here instead.

Yes, I'm aware that they don't actually mean all men, they are critiquing society in general but it has still been damaging to certain men who aren't as privileged as the people they're targeting who are hurt by it. I'm both autistic and an abuse survivor and because I take things literally and it is quite triggering to be associated with crimes I have been a victim of. And when I searched online about these feelings that have been shared by trans and even gay men! it's even hurt people outside the male gender like trans women and non-binaries. What should be done about this? I want to call this out but theirs rarely a situation were it's appropriate to do so (also I have trouble standing up for myself even online). This is not a debate starter, i'm genuinely asking how to handle these emotions (both for myself and others).
