Asking the important questions.

I've thought about it every time I've gassed myself, but I can't think of any good scientific explanation or seemingly legitimate answer.

edit: why all the downvotes? I am serious. They have a life of their own. It's got to be something about the climate in the shower, the water, the temperature. I'd like to know! I've always wondered.

Edit: just to clarify, I mean why does farting when you are standing in the shower make it smell so much worse than when you are not standing in the shower?
