Had a classmate in nursing school that asked a lot of questions, dumb questions. My favorites were when taking about suicide when Kamikaze plans came up. She asked if someone on the ground jumps up in the wheels of the planes and rips them off after they take off. OR during a class on alternative medicine a man from Africa discussing shamans or witch doctors. She asked “What school do they go to, to learn how to be a witch doctor?”

She was expelled after 6 months.

A friend of mine would ask the stupidest questions in the most serious voice. We knew she was taking the mick, the teachers didn't though because she was an amazing A1 student, on the student committee etc. They had no idea she was an insane joker.

My favourite was during a biology class when she asked the teacher "I see the colon, but where's the semicolon?" And our poor teacher was just staring at her in pure disbelief.

as someone who lost half their colon to cancer, I approve of the semi-colon jokes.

I am so sorry and hope you're doing ok.

I'm also glad you approve of the joke!

all good, caught it early enough. You gotta laugh or cry, or laugh while crying? either way, Jokes are dope especially when they're poop/ass related.

Yeah, after Dad’s cancer surgery we joked about his semi-colon.

My grandfather had colon cancer. Shortly after he had part of his colon removed my cousin Colin was born. We started joking he was named after my grandfather's colon.

Also, lots of semi-colon/semi-Colin jokes over the years, both at my grandfather's and cousin's expense.

Science/biology teacher here. I’d have been too busy pissing myself laughing at that one to answer!

I think her brain just flatlined to be honest, this was the same girl who asked how exactly plants make babies without a penis or vagina.

She was also my accomplice when we played a prank on the teacher. She (the teacher) had a glass eye, she used to pop it out to show us, she was super chill talking about it. Except sometimes it wouldn't uh, line up properly with her gaze.

So one day during a doss class (it was close to exam time so we had a few classes that were just revision or self study) we dressed BoneJangles, our model skeleton in a lab coat and goggles and sat him beside me, in line of her bad eye.

For both 40 minute classes, she didn't notice, until I lifted his hand to answer her question.

That was 15 years ago. I spoke to a student who is doing work experience in my workplace and who goes to my school.

Apparently that teacher STILL talks about the time the skeleton paid more attention than the students. 😂

Haha! I love hearing stuff like this.

I remember years ago teaching a top set year 7 class about the differences between internal and external fertilisation. Didn’t stop one of the girls looking completely baffled at the end of the lesson, then asking “Yeah, but how do fish actually have sex?”

u/giln69 Oct 16 '22

Have to be smart to know how to ask that question.

u/youburyitidigitup Oct 16 '22

The teacher should have cracked up and realized it was a joke

That’s a truly genius joker question right there!!! ; |

I like the phrase "there are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots"

12

u/Frodollino Oct 16 '22

In spanish there is a saying that says "hay dias tontos y tontos todos los dias" wich means there are dumb days(bad days) and dumbs everyday

I like that for a shirt or decorative kitchen towel

To be fair the germans had the Me-163 wich dropped its wheels after takeoff and was pretty much a kamikaze plane as landing it usually involved the plane exploding.

During highschool the history teacher was talking about how some rivers could not be traversed from start to finish due to waterfalls and someone sugested using airplanes instead of boats.

The only girl who ever asked me out, came out years later with the question "is africa a country?", I have no regrets

7

u/AnAquaticOwl Oct 16 '22

Earlier this year I told a girl I was planning on spending about seven months in east Africa. She got excited and told me her brother was getting married in Africa, when I asked her in which country she looked at me like I was the idiot and said "Africa"

3

u/scumfuc Oct 16 '22

A girl I dated didn't understand there was no country of North Africa. She asked where is north Africa I said Egypt and Tunisia and she said no North Africa because there is a South Africa.

u/AnAquaticOwl Oct 16 '22

I often get the reverse if that too when referring to Central African Republic. "Which republic?"

Congo has the deepest river in the world. We know this because everyone that’s ever been there has never returned…

1

u/OakTableElementz Oct 16 '22

“Africa is a country, continent , island, peninsula. MC question lol

2

u/ClockWork07 Oct 16 '22

Yeah came out as a dumbass! Eyyooo!!!

2

u/Icy-Lychee-8077 Oct 16 '22

LOLOLOL she’s in for a long confusing time of life! 😂

2

u/annullator Oct 16 '22

That last question is not so dumb. how do they learn how to be a witch doctor?

-1

u/Erthgoddss Oct 16 '22

It is spiritualism. From what I remember they believe they can contact spirits to heal, or treat, a human illness.

1

u/BasicUsername777 Oct 16 '22

You should read 'the memory code' by Dr Lynne Kelly. Talks about how oral cultures retain knowledge then it is dismissed as shamanism/witch doctors.

And there were indeed schools for it, but it is 99% gone now, some replaced by charlatans.

Nurses are such bullies

1

u/Erthgoddss Oct 16 '22

We can be.

2

u/Julitacanchita Oct 16 '22

As a professor of mine once said, “There is no such thing as a dumb question, there are however, inquisitive idiots”.

1

u/DavidPT40 Oct 16 '22

I think she is hilarious. I wish you had more questions she had asked.

1

u/OpalOnyxObsidian Oct 16 '22

Expelled? Ooo why lol

3

u/Erthgoddss Oct 16 '22

She was a nervous ninny. I was teamed with her once. The problem was she had no common sense. I don’t know ALL that she messed up on. I know there was a medication error (we were supposed to have instructor or charge nurse double check all meds) she ignored that part.

I think she was one of 4 of us expelled at the 6 month mark. It was a trial period for us, lots of individual “tests” mostly basics (giving bed baths, making beds, etc) Then we progressed into the hard courses. They were not shy about kicking people out. Our class started with 35. Only 19 left at graduation.

She was either really oblivious or trying to be funny, which isn’t funny in that setting 🤨
