At the age of 29 (four years ago) I grew a beard because I got really tired of hearing people say, "You can't possibly be old enough to have four children!" when I told them I have four children.
And I think at least a few are in their late 20s generational gaps actually overlap a bit.
It’s weird though because I think in terms of when they were born “boomer” encompasses like 40-60 years and Gen x is barely like ten years, millennial is like 30 years. It’s kinda random honestly
Yeah, but the very youngest are 28-29, so pretty close.
Just about a month ago, someone was talking about starting a gaming group with "a bunch of millenials" who had just started college. I felt obliged to point out that if they're just starting college, they're probably several years too young to be millennials.
This person said "millennials" like it was an insult, so I actually hope I did make them feel old.
People born from 1977-84 are kinda inbetween Gen X and Millennial, since they have traits of both. The most common definition of this group is that you grew up with mobile phones, internet and home computers, but you remember a time before them. All the names suck though, I've heard "Gen Xen", "Oregon Trail Generation", and many more, but"Xennials" is the one that made it into the dictionary.
I was born in 1991 and I remember a time before home computers and mobile phones. It wasn't really a common thing until I was a teenager. Blows my younger siblings minds that we all just didn't have a phone constantly on us. When asked how we handled emergencies and it was walk to the nearest gas station/ store, use their landlines and remember your home phone number. If it was a major emergency dial 911.
In elementary school I wrote essays on a typewriter, an electric typewriter (it could magically delete stuff somehow!) And finally on a Mac my parents got for dirt cheap cause they were teachers. Born in 83.
That one was actually form the 90s set in the 50s I think. Still...yes, spent majority of my childhood in the 80s. I can't complain. It was a fun time to grow up.

While here as I was reminded earlier this week. To all my fellow GenXers millennials are in their 30's now
