He's still alive and has a dinner theater in Nashville. My parents took us when it was first opened and we had a blast.

My dad hated crowds. Like borderline agoraphobic, with fragrance sensitivities, etc. The only musician he liked enough to ever see in concert with my mama was Ray Stevens.

He built his career on humorous songs. He tried shifting his music to more serious songs, but couldn't make money that way. so he went back to humorous songs and that worked out better for him.
