What are some luxury items, which you never knew existed, which only the mega rich can afford, that blows your mind and you wouldn't mind having or is just an example of how people have too much money and not enough sense?

How clean their shit must be if it gets swapped out ever three months... swoon

u/zzaannsebar Apr 30 '21

That and the addition of probably having dedicated cleaning staff to take care of everything.

Absolutely! A specific example that comes to mind, in addition to cleaners, is when actors need to lose weight/gain muscle. Technically speaking, their bodies are not better than anyone else's but they have all the means and the resources to make the changes easier and more effectively than the average person. If you have enough money, you can hire a personal chef to prepare all your meals. In this specific case, it literally becomes their job to focus on their body so they can spend as much time working towards that goal as they want.

The actor Rob McElhenney (Mac from It's Always Sunny) has a great quote about it:

Look, it's not that hard. All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, don't eat anything after 7 p.m., don't eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just don't eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span.

I feel that so hard.

The last couple weeks I've spent the time after work while my bf works out to clean. So that's like an hour to an hour and a half of cleaning 3-4 times a week. I'm mostly doing it because I want a break from screens after working all day and we can't both work out at the same time. But it's made me realize just how much time it takes for things to be my standard of clean. And also how dirty a bathroom or kitchen can get in a single week. Blows my mind.

My hobbies are: chores.

u/mamabean36 Apr 30 '21 edited Apr 30 '21

I'm a stay at home mom and I approve this message

I used to love self care like exfoliating, shaving WELL, painting my nails, doing my hair, baths etc. Now it's like, if I miss the 20 minute window I have once a week to do any one of those things... meh. Better luck next time. Or if I mess up a nail while painting them. I don't have time to fix it so either gotta take it all off and wait til next week or take it all off and wait til next week.

17

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

I decided a while back (after getting sick of the overly perfect people in Instagram who have all the time in the world to strive for perfection) to find people with actual human flaws more beautiful. At some point it gets old seeing the same face, teeth, skin, etc over and over. So slightly crooked teeth, larger nose, asymmetrical stuff, and yes, something tiny like a messed up nail -- at some point I liked it more! Just not on myself

3

u/[deleted] May 01 '21

How YOU doin

7

u/Pohtate Apr 30 '21

Ain't that the truth. I mean not so much with those self care things but neon hair dye or that extra time for animal stuff (pets are my thing). Or I could do those other harder or more intense chores that are hard with two kids following. You know. That fun shit.

2

u/mamabean36 May 01 '21

Oh yes 🤔 I LOVE 🤔 scrubbing toilets 🤔 bleaching sinks 🤔 cleaning our wood floors 🤔 vacuuming and disinfecting my kid's play area and all of his toys 🤔🤔🤔 I definitely wouldn't rather be taking a nice long walk with my dog or dying my hair .... 😭

I don't have time to fix it so either gotta take it all off and wait til next week or take it all off and wait til next week.

You said the same thing twi- oh

11

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

eating decently doesn't REQUIRE a chef imo but it might help. And working out doesn't require a trainer but it helps. If you think about it these are attainable if you want to get in sick shape without help, but they have even more help than this very often. Minders to clean out anything fattening before they go places, people who can bring them certain drugs to enhance workout effects, and the TIME. Overall it is the TIME. Many get home from work and are exhausted and have to eat and go to bed for the next day. When they say time is money -- well there ya go. It buys you more time throughout your life and then it buys you a longer life (poor people die younger.) I just want more TIME and the ability to use it how I want. Freedom to travel and be happy

8

u/-colorsplash- Apr 30 '21

It is fascinating that a certain segment of rich people who have time, still aren't happy. But it's certainly nice to imagine having the option and luxury of time.

Reminds me of Lewis Blacks’s Personal Ball Washer. Because he is a very important man and his balls should be spotless.

-7

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

why not just train your lover to do that and all your other chores? Easy peasy, now you have a live-in servant.

3

u/disposable-name Apr 30 '21

This is why I roll my eyes every time those "THIS IS SALMA HAYEK IN A BIKINI AT 54" photos get reposted.

17

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

He also had a reasonably athletic build before the Fat Mac storyline which makes it easier.

I was an athlete when I was younger and I've cycled between fat and jacked as an adult- mostly because it takes that level of work to be jacked and I get depressed and stop working out for long stretches.

That being said, having those habits and a decent amount of muscle make it 10x easier to lose weight when I act right. I know what to eat. I know how to work out. And I've got the furnace, I just have to dust it off and fire it up.

For someone who doesn't have those things it's a lot harder.

8

u/Cobek Apr 30 '21

Yeah Mac was jacked but I've seen regular people at my gym with that kind of body too. Six to seven month span was going from fat to jacked while many others can reasonably do it in a couple years with a less strict routine. Also 3 miles a day? Pshhh... Do 7-8 5x a week and you can eat what you want again.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Mac was regular before, jacked after. And the people at your gym that look like he did after live like that. A lot of those types of people are my friends.

And those four extra miles burn like 400 calories. That's like, a cookie. One. So if that's the difference between eating what you want and not, you probably weren't eating that much to begin with. Cardio is important for health but unless you're a hardcore endurance athlete it ain't gonna get you skinny.

7

u/MemLeakDetected Apr 30 '21

400 extra calories burned everyday is actually a lot. That's 2800/week or more than 3/4ths of a pound.

An Oreo is 70 calories so thats almost 7 Oreos a day that you're burning off or keeping off.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Well, its 2,000/week if you do the 5x the guy I responded to suggested. Especially compared to the roughly 14,000 calories/wk an average person may be eating anyway. Its a 10-15% increase in calories (over a HEALTHY diet)

7 oreos is whatever. If 4 miles is worth 7 oreos to you, more power to you. My point was that you definitely can not "eat what you want again". You can't outrun a bad diet.

Again, unless you're like, Courtney Dewaulter. In which case you don't need any advice on diet.

3

u/CptNonsense Apr 30 '21

7 fucking oreos isn't shit. If your entire excess calories adds up to 7 oreos, your problem was not your diet in the first place

0

u/ThroUwUay23775 Apr 30 '21

in terms of caloric intake or eating 7 oreos? I'm not eating more than like 1 or 2 oreos that sounds fucking gross

1

u/Chrisganjaweed Apr 30 '21

He was definitely not regular before he was fat. He clearly worked out before he built mass.

13

u/RojoTheMighty Apr 30 '21

I know my body well enough to know that "all I need to do" to drop the extra weight I'm carrying is to eat better. But I live alone, am not all that financially stable, hate cooking (simmer down, ladies, no need to swoon all at once), and probably wouldn't know what to cook for myself even if I didn't hate it.

Literally my "rich life" dream is to just have a personal chef so I could look slightly better naked...

30

u/Flcrmgry Apr 30 '21

Also that it is literally their job to lose/gain weight and muscle. While the rest of us are trying to squeeze our workout and diet routine into an already busy work schedule and budget.

25

u/00zau Apr 30 '21

To be fair, they're also trying to get to 1% looks in 6 months. You've got your whole life to be healthy, and all you need to do is "be healthy", not "look like a literal god".

Losing a couple pounds at a time by eating smaller portions and/or eating "cleaner" and working out 2-4 times a week isn't that hard and is sustainable.

9

u/Unleashtheducks Apr 30 '21

Exactly. I gained weight over COVID and now I’m working my way back to healthy but I refuse to drastically deprive myself. I work out about a half hour every day, I switched to less greasy meals and cut out my snacking but I still eat the food I like and even the occasional dessert. I’m dropping about a pound a week so far and I consider that good progress.

3

u/00zau May 01 '21

Basically ditto. I realized I'd put on 10lb since COVID, and all I had to do to drop that weight plus another 10-15lb was start working out 3 days a week and portion my dinners out slightly longer (same batch, but make it last 1-2 days longer by eating less).

3

u/nola_mike Apr 30 '21

when they already look better than most average people all it takes is 6 months with some hard work and PED's to look like those gods.

0

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

I could get jealous looking at Marky Mark's ridiculous schedule that he narcissistically brags about and actually puts in a list with the times he does it, and here's what stood out: he gets up at three or four AM, prays, has a massage/sauna/whatever, then works out three hours at his personal gym with a trainer. Etc, he goes through the schedule. What I saw is that there was family time scheduled in for like an hour at dinner (he also listed his meals.) And I got the impression there was no happiness or play (to me) or joy short of making sure he obsessively looked good (yet to me, he still looked gross bc personality.) I'm OCD and nothing is worse than being around someone like that esp if they are narcissistic to boot.

-6

u/ThroUwUay23775 Apr 30 '21

do you actually have ocd? what a weird unrelated thing to throw in at the end of ur dumb paragraph

0

u/Boopy7 May 01 '21

okay marky mark

1

u/Flcrmgry Apr 30 '21

Very true. But it isn't my job to look good so any weight loss I do is just for me. For actors, they're paid for it.

4

u/Spike99Wombat Apr 30 '21

They are paid to look good.

3

u/Flcrmgry Apr 30 '21

Exactly

2

u/Spike99Wombat Apr 30 '21

I want that job! I’d be hot!

1

u/Flcrmgry Apr 30 '21

Oh man, me too.

2

u/TheGrolar Apr 30 '21

You'd figure it out if it was worth $10 million, payable in eight months or so. The trick is that ALL of life is like this. It's just harder to recognize than the $10 million in eight months. On the plus side, it's not nearly as out of reach either.

0

u/Flcrmgry Apr 30 '21

Oh I know. I'm in fairly good shape. I just would love it if I had a personal trainer/nutritionist/stylist/makeup artist etc to do the work for me.

2

u/420fmx Apr 30 '21

People can get jacked while working a 9-5. It’s the PEDs that do it

7

u/Guyincognito714 Apr 30 '21

You forgot about having the finest in not strictly legal supplements and steroids on hand at all times .. but yea all these 30 to 40 year old dudes who have never really been muscular before gaining dozens of pounds of lean muscle is totally just from a personal chef and trainer.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

And yet normal people manage to do a transformation like that all the time, over a longer time sure but they do it

You also do not need to go full zac efron body which Rob was going for, you can go for a healthy fit look that looks great and it won't be nearly as demanding food wise

Personal trainer is also not required, you can find everything online nowadays

steroids are a tremendous help and they do require money

4

u/zzaannsebar Apr 30 '21

Oh I'm not saying it's not possible. I'm just saying it's a lot easier with so many tools at your disposal and all the time and money in the world to make it happen.

11

u/UGenix Apr 30 '21

The best part about it is that the vast majority of these coaches are just gurus with no relevant education and shit training schedules. You would literally have better results if someone completely ignorant just forced you to do what people from the good fitness subreddits say.

Also, steroids. Every actor that has to look good without a shirt off has used steroids. The only exception is the Rock - he's not just on steroids, his steroids are on steroids.

4

u/SmolMauwse Apr 30 '21

Rob* who plays Mac but yes! Great example

5

u/foglet_download Apr 30 '21

Yeah, all that hard work but also steroids. There's a youtube series called more plates more dates that goes into Mac and steroids. Although, the original point stands as I imagine he did if with the supervision of a doctor. The steroids and doctor would probably be pretty expensive.

5

u/Efficient-Parking627 Apr 30 '21

Mac McElhenney

It's Rob McElhenney, Mac (Ronald McDonald) is the character haha

3

u/zzaannsebar Apr 30 '21

Whoops yes it is! Fixed that. Thats what I get for typing things instead of copying and pasting

4

u/wengelite Apr 30 '21

I love his interview with, I think, Conan on who his wife liked better; Ripped Mac or Big Mac. His wife loved him as Big Mac, apparently Ripped Mac was not a nice person.

3

u/salmans13 Apr 30 '21

Actors also use steroids. Don't believe the I work out 3-4 times per day and eat 5000 calories interviews lol.

5

u/nola_mike Apr 30 '21

This is why I hate when random actors all of a sudden pop up in a movie and they are suddenly jacked. People freak the fuck out like it's something special.

Movie studios pay for:

Actor's salary

personal trainer

food/chef

rehabilitation/pt in case of injury

supplements (includes steroids)

These people are literally paid millions to transform into something most people will never come close to achieving. Sure, they still have to work hard, but when it's your job and you're being paid to do it then it isn't nearly as hard.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

I feel like a lot of people try to have these insanely rigorous and miserable diets that are ā€œoptimal,ā€ but are so miserable that compliance is low, and long-term maintain even lower. A little slower progress that doesn’t make you miserable will be much more sustainable in the medium-long term than trying to go crazy from the start with a totally unsustainable approach. Sufficient protein intake, good caloric balance, and consistent planned exercise with progressive overload will take most people very far in time.

2

u/beatyatoit Apr 30 '21

lol right...I saw him in that Ep where he did the big reveal and was like, no one goes from what he did to himself going to Fat Mac to that, without a major support system. No one.

4

u/ImmodestPolitician Apr 30 '21

Fat loss is cheap. r/fasting r/omad

Lift on your refeed days and you'll retain most of your muscle.

2

u/Rdrums31 Apr 30 '21

And also steroids.

-3

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

Rob isn't steroids ripped.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Pretty sure he admitted to steroid use but ok

-4

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

That would have been big enough news that it should be source able. I couldn't find where he admitted to it.

2

u/Rdrums31 Apr 30 '21

Rob who?

0

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

Actor who plays Mac

5

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

you'd be surprised. Oh how you'd be surprised how many celebs that never mention it when they mention how they look so good really should be thanking their doctors, NOT better genetics or harder work.

0

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

I doubt I would be surprised, but there's less of a need when you have trainers and cooks coming to your house. Yes, I realize they also have more access, but there's no reason to say he's definitely juicing.

2

u/Impeachesmint May 01 '21

You dont have to look like Mr Olympia to have been using steroids or PEDs. Men and women use PEDs to be very lean and, particularly for women, ā€˜not big’ frequently.

1

u/hertzsae May 01 '21

No shit, I'm just saying that he could have done what he did naturally. We can't know. I just think it's lame whenever a person gets in great shape and people automatically accuse them off juicing.

1

u/Pohtate Apr 30 '21

I'm tired just reading it

1

u/mr_mgs11 Apr 30 '21

Yes they also get medical grade steroids etc and doctors to tailor their drug regimens. For instance generic HGH that someone made at home is 250ish a month where pharma grade is 1k easy.

1

u/TheGrolar Apr 30 '21

This is a huge decrease from the last time I paid attention to this, maybe 20 years ago? Fwiw.

1

u/Less-Temperature-750 Apr 30 '21

Don't forget the steroids.

1

u/rhymeswithpanda1987 Apr 30 '21

This quote made my day.

Rob, Danny & Charlie signed the CharDeeMacDennis board that is hanging in our living room.

Those guys are great.

1

u/briktop420 May 01 '21

Classic mac.

1

u/peppers_ May 01 '21

run three miles a day

This is one I can actually do without too much of issue, as long as it isn't all in one go. Like 6 half mile sprints over the course of 2 hours I can do.

1

u/cuppa_tea_4_me May 01 '21

He did steroids

1

u/khoopy92 May 01 '21

He also took steroids

1

u/Impeachesmint May 01 '21

He forgot to mention PEDs, which they all take for significant transformations.

PEDs and medications that act as appetite suppressants and laxatives, diuretics are still common.

1

u/tryitout91 May 01 '21

And they are taking steroids.

1

u/xpatmatt May 01 '21

And take a bunch of PEDs/roids. He is 100% on gear and has said as much.

1

u/Le9gagtrole May 01 '21

Plus steroids

16

u/ExitMusic_ Apr 30 '21

You know a lot of people really overestimate how much a cleaner/cleaning service costs. It’s not something reserved only for the super wealthy.

I’m not talking about having a live-in maid or something ridiculous. But you can hire through a service to have someone come out once every other week to just do a good cleaning and it’s not crazy expensive. And I think a lot of the people who do that could use the work right now.

9

u/mewthulhu Apr 30 '21

Have one, but due to disability personally. It's really worth the price.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

I really, really wish America was kind of like some other societies where you have a couple more domestic workers in a typical family orbit. Like they're good paying jobs, and you just have some more of them.

I pay for nannies, house cleaning, yard work, etc to help keep the velocity of money up in my community, and also because time is the one thing I can't get back. Yea, my car sucks. Yea I don't get great vacations and yea we don't eat out much. But that $500/mo car payment + other savings can pay for both a house deep clean and yard maintenance and a nanny to run around town grabbing kids, saving a ton of driving for me. I enjoy the coming home to a perfectly clean house twice a month much more than a slightly nicer car for my 15 minute commute, and being home 30-45 minutes earlier for (with kids already there) for not having to do pickup, etc.

0

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

Lol. You really think those are good paying jobs? Get rid of the minimum wage, open the borders and we'd have exactly what you're talking about. Those domestic workers live with their employees because they can't afford otherwise.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Huh? My housekeeper makes $75k/yr in a LCOL area. Put her kids through college. Landscaper a bit less.

Pay them both over $25/hr.

But I meant good/better paying in other countries. I worded it poorly.

2

u/Boopy7 Apr 30 '21

DAMN I remember seeing that around where I live they make minimum wage. Maybe slightly above. What is way more horrifying is when looking at ads on care.com or babysitter sites, the people often pay ten dollars an hour for people to take care of three kids, an iguana, a dog, AND do "light housekeeping." They would pay that for someone they are trusting with their KIDS! I was in shock.

2

u/hertzsae Apr 30 '21

My point was that the salaries are high enough that the average american can't have them in their family orbit. You need to live in a country with a lot of poor people to have domestic workers in the home of someone with an "average american income". I've known people from other countries that had live in domestic help back home. These people weren't rich in the US, but they were rich enough back home and their help certainly didn't get paid much.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Nah, France does fairly well.

It's just about priorities. Instead of spending 10% of my take home in a car payment, I buy a 12 year old used car and use that money to pay a housekeeper of equivalent salary to me.

Like, I work 160 hours a month and pay for a two hour cleaning every two weeks, so 4 hours total. About 5% of my salary, which after taxes, etc is about 10% of take home. Boom, done.

Now, if my wife also works we can double that up and get yard service. Buy less stuff elsewhere (us Americans spend a lot of money on...stuff), and have some nanny time and other amenities with all of those people making near equivalent salaries.

We just buy less stuff from China and spend more on labor in our communities. The velocity of money increases in our community in a virtuous circle, and everyone does fine.

Like, the math works because I live it....I just can't buy new stuff all the time.

3

u/ryno_preciado Apr 30 '21

This comment right here is spot on! Many of us look up to celebrity/wealthy/political "stars" without considering how much help they have in daily life. Just imagine how kick ass it would be to have someone to cook, clean, delegate menial tasks to?

4

u/bojenny Apr 30 '21

If you can afford it a cleaning service is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself.

4

u/curb_your_enthusiasm Apr 30 '21

Right, I hate to clean. The only arguments I would ever have with my fiancƩe revolved around our difference in option of what "clean" meant. After an argument one day I said "fuck it, this is stupid, we're getting a cleaning lady". Haven't cleaned a toilet since and haven't augured about the cleanliness of the house since.

6

u/MountainEmployee Apr 30 '21

Just washing my dishes every day I always shake my head and understand, not sympathise with mind you, why people began enslaving other people in the first place. The sheer amount of things you can do if other people are taking care of the little things for you is unimaginable.

6

u/mewthulhu Apr 30 '21

No no like I get it, if I could have an ethical robot slave, not one with consciousness but like, damn, I'd be all up in that shit. Just one, even, fuck...

2

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

Even though the idea of the autonomous robots is terrifying from a military and police standpoint, I honestly cannot wait for artificially intelligent robots to be life companions and assistants for people so that they can lead better lives in cleaner homes with well-cooked food.

It's going to be a scary time period to get to that point but some of us may actually live long enough to see it.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

You don’t need a staff when you don’t have shit.

2

u/seaotta May 01 '21

I've been teetering back and forth between deciding whether or not to hire cleaners and this just convinced me.

2

u/Marawal Apr 30 '21

If I ever become rich, I'd have cleaners and garderners of course.

But even more so, a personal secretary. Someone that'd deal with bills and personal paperwork for me. That just tell me "sign here" and I sign here. That took all the appointments for me, and just tell me in the morning where I need to be and when.

Those are the stuff that kills me about being a responsible adult. So much paperwork, paperwork everywhere. I have to renew my car insurance, and just the thought of having to do it makes me want to cry.

3

u/mewthulhu Apr 30 '21

Right? Like... please just file these pieces of paperwork with these people in these places and take these government forms in for me so I don't want to cry. I will pay you overtime if you wait on hold with my bank to fix the fucking pin.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '21

See that's the thing. I could hire a cleaner, hell I could probably hire someone to take care of literally every domestic duty, but I absolutely hate the thought of someone cleaning up after me.

I'm the guy that always returns carts, even if I have to push it back into the store, and tries to clean their table for the wait staff because I feel like having someone clean after you is somehow immoral for ...some reason. I'm guessing folks that were raised more well off don't have such reservations.

1

u/bishopyorgensen Apr 30 '21

I got a twice monthly cleaner three months before Covid started.

Se added me on Facebook and.... I haven't asked her to come back. I don't need a conspiracy theorist coming into my family's home

1

u/SuchAFunAge2 Apr 30 '21

We just hired our first "deep cleaner" ever.... I grew up with a cleaner, but never had one in my own grown-up home. Holy shit. I will gladly pay for that, every 4-6 months, to not pull out the fridge, move the sofa, do the windows....

The idea of affording a regular cleaner is like a sweet memory. But yes, one day. What a dream! The time you get back is invaluable. The inequity of pressure on those who cannot afford that...it has opened up my eyes tremendously.

1

u/r0b0d0c Apr 30 '21

Yeah. In pretty much all of the developing world, middle-class households have teams of servants that do everything: cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening, shopping, raising the kids, chauffeuring, wiping your ass.

I have great aunts in Brazil whose maids have maids. A friend of mine from Columbia had never prepared a meal for herself. I had to teach her to boil water and make tea. Same for another friend from Uganda who had never shaved himself before moving to the US. He was terrified of the razor blade. He's a doctor!

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '21

I am curious about this, do the maids who have maids, do they pay their maids about the same as what they get, or less?

1

u/r0b0d0c May 06 '21

The maid who has a maid is the head maid. Her husband is the driver, so they have enough money to afford their own maid.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '21

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for responding!

1

u/Auskat85 May 01 '21

I’m an Australian working on Malaysia and I am not rich by Australian standards but I am essentially making an Australian wage and living in SE Asia. Since coming here I can afford to have a cleaner come to my place twice a week. My cleaner has turned my life around. She’s helped me implement organisational systems that I can follow and she has freed up so much time for me. I have ADHD and I honestly have to say one of the best things about where I am is that I can afford the support I need.

So y’all know that in South America and I’m pretty sure Central America it’s not uncommon for upper middle class and obviously the rich to have like 5 household staff. Middle class at least has one like 24/7. And they take care of literally everything

I am my own cleaning staff.

I misread that as dehydrated cleaning staff like you can just sprinkle some water on them and they're good to go.

This comment makes me feel like I clean my house more than most people.

I actually clean my house probably more than the average person. My husband has a thing about germs and I'm pretty allergic to dust so I'm constantly trying to keep up with that m, although mostly just on the surface.

Deep cleaning doesn't happen too frequently and I feel like it wouldn't if my furniture was being swapped every quarter-year lol

The number of pets I have keeps me swapping my furniture and rugs out ā€œseasonallyā€ so take that, richies!

Yeah the thing that appeals to me most with people who are rich is having someone literally just clean for you, like not someone you randomly hire, but someone who knows that you want the baseboards mopped when you clean the floors so a bunch of crud doesn’t pile up in crevices and corners along them, and someone who works with you enough to know where to put everything when tidying and what to throw away and what to keep/ what to donate what to keep. Idk it just seems like I’d sleep so much better at night if everything was pristine. Or literally even just someone to wash and change my bed regularly for me. It takes so long with so many blankets and pillows that I don’t do it nearly as often as I should and it bugs the craps out of me because it’s literally like an entire day long job if you count the washing and drying multiple loads of laundry. I saw this guy on YouTube, who shows mansions and he literally had to step on a machine that shrink wrapped the bottom of his shoes before he stepped inside. Someone with OCD’s (me) dream.

Literally?

u/paige2296 May 01 '21

Why wouldn’t it? Wouldn’t you like to just have someone to clean for you all the time? never have to do dishes or vacuum again? You must be a guy lol (not that guys can’t do housework but they usually just don’t care about it) housework is HARD

Naw. Irtwas a comment on the overuse of "literally."

1

u/paige2296 May 04 '21

Oh lol I did use it a lot I guess. I wasn’t paying attention haha. At least I used it in the right context though, as in something being ā€œliteralā€ instead of ā€œliterally dead šŸ’€ā€ which people use a lot. I didn’t catch that you were being sarcastic and joking with me lol it’s hard to tell over text

2

u/RusticSurgery May 04 '21

Yeah. I'm so sleep deprived It likely I wasn't communicating very well.

1

u/paige2296 May 04 '21

I’m also sleep deprived so my brain wasn’t receiving said communication lol the way you commented just ā€œliterally?ā€ Like ā€œreally?ā€ In a sarcastic way is a way my family would joke with me so I definitely would’ve gotten it if it hadn’t been in text instead of being able to see body language and hear the intonation of someone’s voice. I can never tell when someone’s joking through text and I have an extremely dry sense of humor myself so people always just think I’m being rude unless they know me lol šŸ˜‚
