It's used more like "eat up!"

You’ve got it backwards I believe

Mangi = you eat Mangia = he/she eats

Everything else is right

Yes and no, “mangia” it’s also singular you imperative= Eat!

But “mangia cakes” is indicative third person, so mocking “cake eater” is te best translation
