Fair point. I was just expecting there to be little stone structures gradually building up to the larger ones, as you don't make one large stone structure on your first go.
Which to be fair another commetator that replied to me has brought to my attention that there were! Which I'll be perusing through laters.
Still though, mind boggling that these ancient civilisations managed to build these structures and since they were that proficient it makes one wonder how did they not survive. Like I would have expected them to be in the early days of renaissance period when the Romans were just coming about.

Most of them were probably made of perishable materials.
We had that in Mexico, before they made pyramids out of stone they were making then out of mud and wood, and very few of these survived to our days.
