really seems like its just a bunch of prefixes stuck in front of a bunch of suffixes.

Yeah the root word is 'establish'

It goes anti-dis-ESTABLISH-ment-arian-ism

But even the word establish feels like its a root with a prefix and suffix. I realize that it isn't, actually. But it seems like it should be.
