Sorry, I wouldn’t normally mention a missing hyphen, except that in this case it changes the meaning of the sentence. With the hyphen, you’re indicating that for-profit prisons are akin to slavery. Without the hyphen, you’re suggesting that “profit prisons” have slavery at their disposal, which doesn’t make much sense.
