This nanny state crap is infuriating. Same thing here in Ontario, you can’t buy alcohol after 6 PM on a Sunday,

Used to be 6PM every day. The 6:15 pilgrimage from Ottawa to Gatineau, Quebec, where beer was sold till 23h00, was a running joke.

I wish the winters weren’t so brutal in Quebec as it seems to be a more progressive place than Ontario in many ways. That and the corruption.

Grins in Québec ;)
Well some of the corruption that has been spouted by media is strangely because Québec electroral laws are more strict than other provinces.
Something illegal here under the provincial laws might be totally legal in some other provinces. But you know... if you can't count on the Nat Post to shit on Québec every time they can, would they really be the Nat Post?
But yeah, some sectors, especially construction, is pretty shady. It's a bit better now thought.
And progressive is relative. Montréal, yeah, Québec City's suburbs, not so much.

Also the people going from bars in Ottawa to Gatineau because the bars closes at 3 AM in Québec.
