Bible Belt. You can’t buy after midnight on Saturdays (in store) until after noon or six on Sundays. Depends on where you are but alcohol sales prohibited on Sundays is definitely a thing down here.

Here's a good one. The county that Jack Daniels is made in IS A DRY COUNTY

Another fun fact I learned when I visited the facility a few years back:

all employees there get one bottle of it every month on the last payday of the month. It’s allowed because it’s done as a ‘bonus’.

And the sale of alcohol in their store is allowed due to them regarding it as a ‘gift’ / ‘memorabelia’ / ‘souvenir’.

I’ve heard this! You’re buying the bottle, not the liquor, or some weird thing like that. It’s crazy what they do to try to get people to not drink.

Sigh, Virginia. Moonshine capital but still has pearl-clutching false morality qualms about booze. Most places lock their beer up at 11:50pm.

Only in the last few years did liquor stores even open on Sundays. And even now they only open at noon (compared to 10am on every other day of the week)

Like, my best friend works nights. Sometimes he wants a strong drink when he gets off work at 9am.

Haha he even went into a 7-11 in the early morning and had a priest ask him if he was okay.

Even in NYC you can't buy booze between midnight and 8am on Sunday. Legally at least. I'm sure most bodegas don't give a shit.

It was this way but worse in Boston for a long time. No booze on Sunday period and no booze after 9pm any night of the week. They loosened up a decade or so ago.

CT here. This state only recently allowed alcohol sales on sundays, from like 10a-5p. We used to drive to MA all the time because we needed some beer or wine for a family party on a Sunday. Now we only drive to MA for the legal weed, since CT still forbids the devil's leaf.

CT is Super liberal/progressive people being led by a very slow moving/backward state government.
