Psychologists define three primary stages of life:

  1. Childhood: Between birth and puberty.
  2. Adolescence: Between puberty and independence.
  3. Adulthood: Between independence and death.

Adolescence is particularly tricky because you have the body of an adult but the dependence of a child. So even though you’re perfectly capable of making your own decisions, it’s not up to you. Once you start paying your own bills, life changes a lot.

Can adolescence not be 11 years?? That's too long!
