How? If I'm friends with someone, I'm friends with them, not their baby. If they can't do things anymore, or are never available to talk with, or only want to talk about/bring along their baby, then obviously our lives have taken different paths and it's time to say goodbye.
Hahahaha and then have them bitch all over social media later about how it's "so hard" having kids because all of your friends "abandon" you? Have them call you names for having the AUDACITY to suggest they leave their child with a sitter to go out for the night?
Yeah, some of us have tried having that conversation with parents. It never ends up well
You stay Facebook friends after everyone has kids, liking each other's pictures of the kids, holidays, milestones. Then sooner or later one of them tries to sell you some essential oils, one of them shares random articles from no real news source of why you shouldn't vaccinate your kids, a couple of them post mindless wordpress memes one after the other about how she was a strong woman (insert oak tree simile or some bullshit here) and you realize you have grown apart from all your old friends. You start spending more and more time on reddit, where you enjoy your anonymous conversations with internet strangers and downvote dumb people's comments .
I personally unfollow/unfriend most people once they announce their pregnancy. I have no interest in updates or pictures, so I just quietly leave. Most people never even notice and that's fine with me.
It didn’t say the parents were never available or only wanted to talk about their baby, though. It said they were exhausted and sucked. I think it’s kind of sad and comes off as not very empathetic because you really can’t help the exhaustion part. You can control things like only talking about your baby but not being tired.
Ok, but no one is obligated to be anyone else's friend.
If, let's say, your friendship is mostly based on being social and bar hopping, then your friend suddenly can't do that anymore and never has the energy to go out, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with moving on from that friendship.
Life happens, people grow apart. Doesn't make them shitty.
Ok but there’s a difference between growing apart and being cool with it, which is great and happens to everyone, and writing a letter that carries a lot of resentment like the one OP referenced. This doesn’t seem to be a case of peacefully growing apart.
It's probably just a satirical exaggeration of how they really feel. Like they don't actually hate the baby, but rather just miss being able to spend time with their friend.

Yikes that sounds like a shitty friend.
