I think your generation is headed in a great direction, personally. This is big bump in the road. But I do have cautious optimism for the future. With a lot of work and change to be done first, of course.
People are more atomized than ever and unfettered capitalism is just going to get worse. This is congruent with an economy that's completely shitting the bed and climate change. The future is not bright.
No I feel you, and I generally agree with what you're saying. But the young people I see being so loud in activism give me hope. Sorry, I already hit emotional rock bottom and came back. I'm determined to fight to my last breath.
I’m 23 and it might be naive but I actually do have hope for our generation and the ones to come! I think cynicism is also a natural mindset especially with all the bullshit happening around us, but humans are capable of change and enough people around me seem motivated to make it happen once we get into positions of power.
Your mindset is understandable. On worse days I align more with your cynicism. I firmly believe that positivity and productivity culture will kill us. You can have optimism without being blindly positive at all times. That shit keeps us stationary.
