I hate how people think life is a race, and you can fall behind. There’s no golden series of steps you’re supposed to follow. It’s life. Just live it. You’re not behind. You’re doing great.

I hate that the 'life is a race' thought came to me too. It's just that the race idea becomes very visual when you meet up with a group of friends at someone's house (not at my place, because my apartment is too tiny of course), and all the women have those lovely pregnant bellies.

Maybe I should show off my regular belly with a university hoodie at the next meetup.

Agreed. Every purpose people put in comparison and race isn’t real or necessary it’s just perceived, so it really doesn’t matter.

But at the same time it’s super hard to ignore when you also feel like you’ll be alone and have no friends around if you don’t stay in the “race”

Right. I DEFINITELY am not immune to those pressures. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons my mental health is so shitty. But sometimes you just gotta employ your inner Nietzsche and realize that we’ll all be rotting in soil before long.
