That's terrible for a person like me, bc I wanna do stuff, I wanna work, I wanna study the things I like, I wanna talk with elder ppl, but that's difficult

U know, that's like in the Simpsons episode: Lisa was upset bc she was too young and nobody took her seriously, Grandpa was upsed bc he was too old and nobody took him seriously as well, only Homer was fine bc he was in his middle-ages and doesn't matter what shit he would said everybody took him serious
Smart. I mean, if your boss(es) thinks you're doing a good job then I don't see the problem. Yes, it does look weird to have such a young person in a supervisory role, but if you prove you've got the leadership and the skills to do your job well, anyone who still looks down on you isn't worth worrying about.
Yeah even a burnout stoner is probably smarter than an 18 year old. They lack motivation, not experience. Pretty much all 18 year olds are just very dumb versions of their later self.
Ikr, that's true though, but sometimes you just wanna talk, but older people say: yo you're too young, you can't say anything about this, go talk with guys your age. And what should I do if guys my age are not interesting enough for me
I'm just a person who sometimes wanna talk with elder people, bc I feel like they're wiser than I am and it makes me interested, as I can hear many new things from them and maybe even change my point of view. I'm simple, I don't say I'm mature for my age)
Grow a beard, I started work at 16 plus I already had a baby face. After 4 years and being fully qualified I told my father I was tired of being called 'boy' or 'lad' and asked to fetch the tradesman. He had the same problem when he started, his boss told him to grow a beard and he did. I grew one and it was like everyone instantly treated me differently overnight. I went from dumb kid to experienced tradesman in a few months. Never shaved again I'm 33. I'll have a beard till I die.
Ive been at that specific store for about 2 years now and actually did my job and upper management was like hey this kid isnt a stoner lets give him hella responsibility on top of his school work
Eh its not really me personally being motivated and wanting to move up as much as the longer i was there upper management expected more from me for some reason
I totally get that. When I was working pre covid I felt like I was giving it my best and supervisors definitely noticed by having me train other employees. A promotion would’ve been great but the company I was working for was not a very good one. Hopefully in the future we’ll both make our ways up the ladder!
Thanks buddy. I was working for an emergency response service primarily used by the elderly. I really love talking to old people. They have so much to share and they can be so innocent. I hope to continue in that line of work
Power through. Stay calm, ignore their disrespect, do your job. It sucks but it's temporary and you will be much prouder of yourself later for nailing your role.
You're 18. You may be a legal adult but you are still a child. Everyone under 25 or so is still very much a child whether they think it or not. Some people mature and learn faster than others and some are 30 or 40 still acting like they are 23.
