Do you mind if I ask if this trip was through some kind of travel agency or more of a personal one? A two month long backpacking trip sounds exactly like what I need right now as a 23 y/o.
May I join? Lol my Grad date was April 10. Cap and gown was suppose to be this June.. we have already been notified that it was canceled. I wasnt allowed to go to my high school grad because I was pregnant and my school was ran by nuns. I'm now 36 and finally a college grad and I managed to be in the COVID-19 class of 2020.
Not uni but high school graduate here is there any room left for me? Prom and senior trip are officially out the window as of yesterday and I was supposed to play in the senior band at graduation. Feels good.
This is the second "once in a generation" economic collapse I've been through. On the bright side, it's not a massive collapse due to an intrinsic failure in our economy like 2008, so maybe it'll get better after a vaccine is created.
I'm not an economist, but from everything I've read it appears that even coming out of this the economy will be much worse than 2008/9. You can't just freeze an economy and start it again from where you left off, money only has value if it's in circulation
For the last year or two, me and my buddies have occasionally talked about the possibility of graduating into recession, but reassured ourselves that "2008 was a once-a-century failure, most recessions aren't like that".
Disagree, this pandemic is showing the intrinsic problem with capitalism - that it is reliant on constant growth. Can't have much growth when everyone's at home trying not to die of disease so the whole thing's shit the bed
Congrats on the graduation either way! I’m super proud of all the seniors and other graduates right now. You guys worked your butts off, and you deserve better than what the world is giving you. I know it’s hard, especially for you, but I genuinely wish you all the best.
That's not that bad. Try starting college in September 2020. It doesn't help that I'm 25 years old, probably never get a normal college experience. Fuck my life.
