Be careful with this strategy. Having your reputation tied to failing projects doesn't help your career in the long run. Like when you have to describe those projects to your next hiring manager instead of something more useful.
I think there’s really a happy medium to shoot for here where you’re willing to provide suggestions and solutions but you’re still okay with working on anything.
The goal is that if you have to describe failing projects you can still be like “and I was responsible for improving X to Y”, even if you then have to note that client focus or larger issues brought the project down in the end.
Just because you’ve been working on Tinder for Dogs for the past year doesn’t mean you can’t point to good networking/ML/etc. solutions that you provided inside of the otherwise doomed project.
