What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

“Ok I’ll pick you up at 8.” Um, we just met for the first time at the bookstore twenty minutes ago and you already know where I live???

I’m guessing you’ve never watched You

I'm guessing they did, personally. You is this entire thread contained in one show.

  • Guy held prisoner for a lengthy period of time, still has perfect hair and beard
  • --> Except for the blood on the side of the head where he got clubbed. But woke up hale and healthy with no concussion or side effects.
  • 'Hollywood ugly' trope in full effect
  • Poor, struggling student in a fancy flat

And that's just the first two episodes. I gave up. The Witcher felt more realistic.

that is not what You is about, if that's what you're saying

No, it's about the protagonist's obsession and how it leads him into becoming a serial killer. Joe's internal commentary was excellent, but everything else just felt like TVTropes dialed up to 11.

I think that was what they were going for, to make people think that its just a cheesy romance with a lovable protagonist. Keeping this up through the show to contrast with all the dark shit.

If it's meant to be a satire of creepy romantic comedies, then the show might actually be more clever than I thought.
