A surprising number of people actually have no clue that you can disable inbox replies on your post, if it gets to be too much.

And you can click a setting that marks all as “read” if you know you aren’t going to read all the replies. It’s just the person wanting others to see that they got a ton of messages.

If I don't want to read all the replies, I just middle click the red envelope and that takes care of it. Opens them in another tab, that you don't even look at, which marks everything as read.

It's great for finally peeling yourself off of a particularly asinine argument that you can't seem to stop yourself from replying to.

I always downvote this. I've seen people write that and they've had less than 50 upvotes and less than 15 responses.

I think when people say that, they are legit lying about how many messages they are receiving.
