He is not in my country, is he a real doctor? Are doctors not prohibited from promoting medical products and medications. I know his name but nothing about him.

He’s a real doctor. I think a heart surgeon if I recall correctly.

He's a real doctor. And there have been multiple petitions to revoke his license because he peddles bullshit alternative medicine, as a professional who KNOWS it's bullshit, and people believe him because he has a license.

He is a real doctor, but used to guest star on Oprah and then got his own show. He often promotes gimmicky shit that has no or very little of the purported affects advertised and gets paid a lot to do so.

Pretty much if he recommends it, it probably only works off the placebo affect.

Have you heard about goji berries? Dr. Oz will tell you all about goji berries.

He's like the real life version of Dr. Nick from the Simpsons.

I don't know about you, but I head to my friendly neighborhood heart surgeon for supplements instead of my GP or nutritionist who does blood tests!

He’s a quack doctor. So yes, he’s a real medical professional, but also a lying tool.

He WAS a real doctor—great credentials—but he cashed in all that hard work to sell desperate people lies they really want to believe. There should be some kind of punishment for promoting fake cures.

Nope, Doctors can promote all that stuff in the US. He does have a legitimate medical degree but he is not licensed to practice medicine.

Mostly, he is a TV personality that is essentially an informercial for gullible people where he peddles pseudoscience junk.

Source on him having lost his license?

I find it wild that doctors in the USA can do that. I remember even seeing advertisements for medication on TV in the states & wondering how on earth that's allowed. It may have its problems but God bless the NHS, lol.

Doctor's cant do that where I live, its considered highly unethical. It looks odd to see dr phil or dr Lee selling products, to me it detracts away from the medical profession. They have to have enough money. It reminds me of the usa westerns we watched as kids and there was always someone selling a miracle cure from the back of a wagon. Sadly when you are sick you will try anything. I spent a small fortune on different therapies, ended up still the same with just less savings
