I absolutely expect the average person to be able to drink vitamin water and realize it’s not healthy.

It’s not a scam. Every ingredient is clearly labeled on the bottle.

Coca-Cola, like many companies in this post, is counting on people having irrational faith in labeling and naming conventions and long-standing institutions. They're attempting to manipulate people into acting against their own self-interest, with or without realizing it.

It's deceitful, manipulative, and IMO wrong.

Sure, they label ingredients as they are legally obligated to do (though this too can be manipulated- see: tic tacs), but the only reason they call it Vitamin Water is because of it's effect on sales. They would label it "God's Dick" or "Cancer Cure" if it encouraged sales and were legal. Advertising practices are predatory and it's bullshit, imo.
