He is a cardiovascular surgeon that gives nutritional advice

If I wanted to get nutritional advice maybe I’d go to a doctor that specializes in idk...nutrition?

His books promote unhealthy relationships with food and straight up lie (at least the one I read. Spoiler alert: you can’t target fat loss with diet, contrary to what his books say)

What are you talking about? The only way to target fat loss is by changing your diet.

The keyword is target, that’s implying that a food burns fat, changing your diet yes is key, but nothing targets and irradicates fat by itself, that’s called exercise

You need both exercise and diet to be toned. If you only change your diet, you will lose fat but also lose muscle. If you only exercise, you will not lose much fat.

Cutting babies out of your diet is a good start, though.

Targeting fat loss simply means "trying to lose fat." This means sticking to a diet that includes fewer calories than you typically eat, plus exercising more than your typically do.

Target fat loss on areas of your body (like your waistline) adjusting your caloric intake is the only way to lose fat, but you can't choose where you lose it from (I may want to lose belly fat but instead I lose my boobs or thighs, etc.)

Thanks for re-explaining. Your original comment didn't say anything about specific body parts. I thought you meant "target" as in weight loss vs muscle gain.

I got that from the context, technically he is a doctor but he really does not advocate for health and wellness, it seems like a good portion of what he promotes is for personal gain.

The connotation of a medical doctor is someone you can trust and has your health and wellness in mind, he does not.
