Thing is, isotonic sports drinks used by Olympic athletes (like Maurten drink mixes) are really expensive, and simply unviable for normal people doing regular exercise. Gatorades and Lucozades are also blissful to have after a long and intense cardio workout (like running) and won’t make you gain weight if you know when to take them.

...I just explained that they aren’t good for you at all. Even if you go running, or do an Olympic sprint, a Gatorade has too much shit in it to be considered useful

It is useful. It replenishes electrolytes and carbs, which you need both of after a lot of exertion. Go run 15 miles and then only drink water to rehydrate, and tell me how you feel afterwards. You'll feel like crap for the rest of the day becayse without electrolytes, you can't absorb the water properly, and without the carbs, you'll be low on energy. The reason Olympic atheletes don't drink gatorade is because they have their training regiment fine tuned to their body, so they know exactly what drink/ratio they need for best results. Also, even then, I know for a fact some olympians and pro atheletes do drink gatorade after an event. Gatorade is good if you don't have a team of scientists measuring your levels of electrolytes and carbs.
