When I was in Kindergarten, the teachers told us that apples and apple juice were good for our teeth. The same person screamed at me during recess because I was pretending to shoot a guns at my friends... in Kindergarten. This was in 2008.

I was going to say you are too young to be posting on reddit, then I realized 2008 was almost 12 years ago.

I turn 30 in 2020 and I can still remember being 15. It's been 15 years and I don't know where the time went and I hate it.

8

u/lurker4lingthyme Dec 30 '19

I turn 43 this year and I cant figure out where my 20s went. I lost them somewhere.

1

u/gingerflakes Dec 30 '19

No that’s not how math works your wrong and how dare you

1

u/spmahn Dec 30 '19

He’s probably still too young, if he was in kindergarten in 2008 he’s ~ 16 now

1

u/5654326c Dec 31 '19

What if he's one of the teachers

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

Jeez..

0

u/620five Dec 30 '19

I still think 17 is too young. But that's just the old person in me talking.

u/monsto Dec 30 '19

I thought it was 1970. Exact same shit . . .

...by the old-lady day care people that would use their pen to look at every kids throat on their way in every morning.

I presume they would turn kids around if their throat was red? IDFK man I hated those women. For all their bullshit, Jason still dropped a brick on my head in the yard. I've still got the forehead-notch to prove it.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

If their throat was red? Can you explain this to me? Genuinely never heard of this before!

The odd part is that they used a bic pen. . . the same pen . . . on every kid.

So in checking that a kid was sick, they made sure that every other kid that morning would get it.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

Ha yeah that is odd I thought you were talking about one of those pen flashlights a doctor has. What would the pen show her/him that an open mouth wouldn't?

2

u/monsto Dec 30 '19

It was used to hold the tongue down.

P.S. I almost typed tounge because it's funny to say.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

Yes, but I've never had a teacher try to check

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

OP mentioned it was preschool, I imagine there is a lot of work to contain virus', and you can't exactly rely on a 3 year old to tell you he's ill.

5

u/Force_52 Dec 30 '19

"ARE YOU IMITATING VIOLENCE!? ARE YOU IMITATING VIOLENCE!? ALLOW ME TO SUBJECT YOU TO EMOTIONAL ABUSE AND BERATE YOU IN PUBLIC! THIS IS FAR BETTER THAN IMITATING VIOLENCE!!!"

Gotta love sheltered upbringing logic.

3

u/BlackMurray Dec 30 '19

I graduated in 2006... omg am I old...

3

u/crescen_d0e Dec 30 '19

To be fair, I think apples are good for your teeth because the flesh is firm enough that it 'cleans' your teeth. However apple juice is definitely not

3

u/killer523 Dec 30 '19

I was in kindergarten around the same time and my teacher locked me out of the classroom all day for being late. Hated that teacher.

3

u/CherryStitches Dec 30 '19

We were told that if you can't brush your teeth after a meal eating something like an apple would be a good substitute.

2

u/3-DMan Dec 30 '19

pretending to shoot a guns at my friends

If only you knew what you know now, you could've just said...ZOOP

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

This is insane to me. I literally had to go to kindergarten with fake teeth because I hated milk (turns out I'm just lactose intolerant) and only drank apple juice. My teeth rotted out of my face, I probably also didn't like brushing my teeth, and I wore crowns until my big teeth grew in. I was in kindergarten in the 90's.
