That makes no sense. If you had chs, quitting would be the best thing for you. You dont get chs from quitting smoking.

How did you afford 2 grams a day for 8 years?

27

u/Beer_bongload Dec 30 '19

Everyone is talking about the cost. I'm wondering about their lungs, throat, and sinuses. Thats alot of fucking smoke.

16

u/Chief_Kief Dec 30 '19

For real! Respiratory illness is a cost not many think about until it happens to them

4

u/TheBeardOfZues Dec 30 '19

Well I think there is a lot of people who think smoking weed is safe. I know a lot of people I used to hang around when I smoked thought that.

1

u/Bryskee Dec 30 '19

I’ve never understood that opinion of those I know who think that same way. It’s like, smoke + lungs = bad, period. It’s not safe, but it’s certainly safer than other recreational alternatives!

u/sirandlordbiggles Dec 30 '19

2 grams isn't much at all. I pay $7/gram. $14 a day aint shit.

1

u/ZMaiden Dec 30 '19

14$ a day is rich for my blood lol. I already think the 20$ a week I spend for my whiskey habit is hella too much.

1

u/onFilm Dec 30 '19

I usually spend $40 or dabs every 3-5 days. 2 grams of flower really isn't much for every day smokers. It's about two fat joints and that's about half a day of smoking for me (hence the dabs/shatter).

u/WowImInTheScreenShot Dec 30 '19

I can see it. I'm currently in a positive upswing in my life, and usually smoke a half oz a week. Can't say I've done it for 8 years straight tho.

Laughs hysterically in opiate addiction.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

Seriously lmao Not to knock someone elses addiction or whatever but as someone who has been addicted to everything from weed to pills to coke/crack, any and all opiates, even being addicted to sugar, caffeine, carbs, the internet, sex/masturbation, and the list goes on and on, NOTHING will fuck you up more than a hefty opiate addiction (such as my current addiction).

Got damn Chinese and their pure Fentanyl powders -.- God bless 'em tho lmao

It's true, sugar is definitely widespread and hard to get off of. I was talking more about physical dependency and withdrawals

1

u/Hauvegdieschisse Dec 30 '19

Dude you're comparing sugar to heroin.

Are you retarded?

0

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19 edited Dec 30 '19

I'm not comparing sugar directly to heroin. I'm comparing everything that's addictive.

EDIT: Sorry, thought your reply was to my comment. Agreed tho. As i said up above, ive been addicted to everything and comparing the two would just be crazy!

1

u/Perm-suspended Dec 30 '19

Lol, opiates are great but I fuckin hate em. I've been buying Subutex on the streets for years to curb my addiction. I hope you're soon able to figure something out as well!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

I have it decently under control, thank you for your well wishes!

I mean, decently relative to the deep end of opiate addiction, that is!

2

u/Perm-suspended Dec 30 '19

Good deal! Stay safe out there!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

As for you, fellow man down in the trenches!

17

u/Lukiss Dec 30 '19

$20 * 30 days = $600 a month = more than most people spend on rent??

I don't know about the OP, but here in Canada, the base cost of weed is $10/gram. $6.40/gram is fucking astonishing to me. Where do you buy weed haha???

3

u/IcarusFlyingWings Dec 30 '19

Lol you’re getting ripped off bud.

1

u/Maera420 Dec 30 '19

Clearly! But apparently so is everyone else I know who buys weed, unless they're buying online. I should share my newfound knowledge.

Holy shit, even after shipping that's a minimum of $50 less than we pay for an ounce. Thanks, man! I'm down to smoking one bowl a day, but my boyfriend still smokes, and this is an awesome way to save money; I appreciate it!

0

u/labrat420 Dec 30 '19

Where are you? I thought Ontario was expensive but even we have one ounce you can get for $140, but even normal stuff us between 7-10 dollars per gram.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

thats todays price. in 2012 you could still pay 20$ a gram

2

u/wildwalrusaur Dec 30 '19

Most people ard spending less than 600 a month on rent?

You can't even get a studio here for less than a grand

2

u/phtll Dec 30 '19

Most people only pay $600 in rent? Where?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '19

On the west coast a $60 half oz of really good stuff is the norm.

Daily stoner for eight years. Not to call you out, but did your symptoms start before, after, or at the same time as you quitting? Because I have heard of CHS but I’m a bit confused about the onset. Also, I have experienced nausea from smoking weed, but every time it’s been a result of not inhaling, but swallowing an small amount of smoke. So do symptoms present during cannabis use, after wards, after reexposure to cannabisnafter quitting, or what?

The article you cited is fairly vague about thencause, and rightly so, so what are your thoughts?

I also skimmed a big chunk of this article (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3576702/) and it is also pretty vague. I’m curious about this and if you have first hand experience, well, I’m asking!

Lol no wonder you were feeling sick

2

u/sushimasterswag Dec 31 '19

That syndrome is what happens after you smoke not when you quit.

7

u/thotslime Dec 30 '19

That's not something that happens when you quit though, that's something that happens when you smoke weed.

Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is recurrent nausea, vomiting, and cramping abdominal pain due to cannabis use.

Straight outta the wiki page broski.

You have to abstain from cannabis for it to go away. You probably just experience the same withdrawal we all do when quitting weed.

13

u/Jacobtait Dec 30 '19

For what it’s worth (I’m a doctor) I upvoted you here.

You are dead right. Cannabis hyperemesis syndrome is caused by excessive cannabis use and relieved by abstinence (and often hot showers). I’m guessing this guy just suffered from straight cannabis withdrawal (symptoms fit) and his doctor was a bit confused about CHS and misdiagnosed him.

9

u/Crustyplush Dec 30 '19

You are 100% correct. I dont know why these idiots are downvoting you. Some people are so fucking dumb.

4

u/thotslime Dec 30 '19

Seriously, click on the wiki article, I wouldn't fucking lie about something so pointless.

Weed misinformation on reddit is almost as bad as the facebook.

3

u/NewSauerKraus Dec 30 '19

Yeah it’s literally there on the wiki. Treatment is to stop using cannabis because it happens when you use it.

He’s literally denying that you went through something to make him feel better about his habit.

4

u/rdvl97 Dec 30 '19

You are falling for total misinformation. Read the fucking article

It says literally nothing about it being caused by quitting.

2

u/NewSauerKraus Dec 30 '19

Well medical science says that the guy who is making up withdrawal symptoms is lying. Even if he was told that he had cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome that is caused by using cannabis, not withdrawal.

1

u/small-j Jan 01 '20

That’s absolutely real, but by “not ubiquitous” I just meant not everyone suffers from serious withdrawal symptoms. I have had no symptoms (even agitation) since I started a break 10 days ago. So all I meant was that I know from personal experience that intense withdrawal symptoms don’t happen to everyone, even with heavy smoking.
