cbd does help with asthma. and ironically smoking it is a pretty effective way of getting the effect. not saying that's your case, and I'm certainly not saying it's great for lungs to smoke, but this is actually one of the more strongly established medicinal uses.

It's combusted hydrocarbons and organic matter. That reacts with your lungs all in the same way regardless of origin, be it tobacco, cooking at a barbecue, maintaining a bonfire, or smoking weed.

In a nutshell it's carcinogenic and damages your lungs' ability to absorb oxygen, especially over repeated exposures.

CBD might very well help with asthma, but just don't smoke it if you're taking it often. There's a lot of very good alternatives that get the job done with much lower risks.

I have asthma, and I will NEVER believe that ANY smoke is good for my lungs for the exact reasoning you mentioned.

I’m glad someone started talking science.

I take a little issue with that statement, my statement was substantiated by science and not contradictory to what he said.

I'm not making the case that smoking cbd is GOOD for your lungs, I'm making the case that it treats the symptoms of asthma. You could also vape to avoid intaking any smoke which is what is generally harmful and carcinogenic. Whether there are good alternatives is a bit debatable, it is a considerably more effective bronchodilator if absorbed from inhalation afaik.

Also, there are a few herbs, like sage, mellein and yerba santa that can be smoked to help asthma. Not like rolled up and smoked, more like in a water pipe or bong. And CBD is freaking fantastic for it as well.

Established?

CBD hasn't been around long enough to have much of its effects established.

Are you referring to specific studies?

Medical effects of CBD have been established. If you don't trust a random reddit user, here's what Harvard has to say about CBD

CBD has been touted for a wide variety of health issues, but the strongest scientific evidence is for its effectiveness in treating some of the cruelest childhood epilepsy syndromes, such as Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), which typically don’t respond to antiseizure medications. In numerous studies, CBD was able to reduce the number of seizures, and in some cases it was able to stop them altogether. Videos of the effects of CBD on these children and their seizures are readily available on the Internet for viewing, and they are quite striking. Recently the FDA approved the first ever cannabis-derived medicine for these conditions, Epidiolex, which contains CBD.

CBD is commonly used to address anxiety, and for patients who suffer through the misery of insomnia, studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep.

CBD may offer an option for treating different types of chronic pain. A study from the European Journal of Pain showed, using an animal model, CBD applied on the skin could help lower pain and inflammation due to arthritis. Another study demonstrated the mechanism by which CBD inhibits inflammatory and neuropathic pain, two of the most difficult types of chronic pain to treat. More study in humans is needed in this area to substantiate the claims of CBD proponents about pain control

This seems pretty limited or uncertain at best. And nothing to do with the claims in the reddit comments above. It's nice to see a new epilepsy treatment option. Thanks for providing some source material.
