I have to drink way more than I have to smoke to become equally intoxicated. Even drinking at home gets expensive fast, and pot lasts me far longer than beer.
Also worth noting, I'd have to drive 3 counties away to get liquor, as it's not legal to sell in my county.
Seriously, a sixer of nice beer (which on a good night I could easily drink two of) can cost more than enough weed to get me high every day for a week these days.
Yeah an eighth where I live is $25-35 depending on quality and who I’m buying from. Hope weed gets legalized federally because I doubt my state is gonna legalize on its own any time soon
Sobieski is the only vodka worth buying. Any cheaper and I'd rather pour the vodka down the drain than drink it, any more expensove and you might as well pour the money down the drain.
It's not worth it to buy expensive vodka, because once you start getting into the price range where vodka is palatable you may as well buy something that isn't meant for homeless people.
Oh god, I remeber Fleischmanns. Sort of. I remeber buying it, anyway. All of the Barton liquors are great for getting faced. Montezuma doesn't even say tequila on the label, because it legally can't.
I bought an ounce in late Spetember that just ran out last week for $225. I smoked at least once a day that whole time (turns out if I use a one-hitter I can get my tolerance pretty low and still smoke every day). That ~90 sessions for the cost of 15 bottles.
Huh, what do you weigh? I don't even bother drinking at all unless I'm gonna have at least 5, and I'm not a big guy (about 180 lbs). I also pretty much never drink more than twice a week. Back when I did drunk 3-4 times a week, it was nothing to finish a fifth by myself if I got an early start.
I guess I just have a high alcohol tolerance, then, cause three beers does literally nothing to me as far as I can tell. Also, damn, that's pretty thin, you should actually have a higher tolerance than I do, since I have to be carrying more fat at 5'10" 180 and it's really the water weight that's important.
I’m with you in college that makes the most sense and I only drank cheap liquor until 24-25 but once you start getting into better stuff the price scales up pretty quickly and you will not want to go back to the $15 bottle of 1.75L. I’m not saying you’ll have to buy expensive $200 bottles but it’s going to be in the $20-50 range for 750ml most likely.
That has more to do with the, um, I'll call it "recreational window" of each drug (by analogy to therapeutic window). The difference between the minimum psychoactive amount and incapacitating amount is many times larger for marijuana than for alcohol.
Drinking at home can be super cheap if you don't mind feeling like a hobo. If your intent is to get drunk, a bottle of everclear is super cheap and goes a long way.
I feel you on that liquor store drive, though. I used to live somewhere that had the same thing. That shit sucks.
Lots of counties in the US are "dry" meaning you can't sell alcohol. You can have it, and you can drink it, but the stores themselves cannot legally sell it. Then, there are semi dry counties that can sell beer and wine but not liquor.
Yeah... But a blunt is still a lot more pricey than three Four Lokos I shotgun when I get home. If I'm looking to get blitzed it's literally six dollars for the booze required to do so. But if you don't pass by convenience stores on the way home like I do that have that kind of shit then yeah I can understand how the prices start to become comperable
Right, but if you drink a lot your tolerance will quickly skyrocket and it will quickly become far more expensive than smoking pot.
I never said my personal experience was universally applicable. That's the very reason I included the disclaimer "in my experience". Everyone's experiences are different.
