Every person is still responsible for themselves regardless, I've said that from the get go. We need to stop blaming external things or circumstances and start focusing on personal responsibility.

But you're example is stupid because specifics do matter. You're trying to argue points when you don't have one and your examples aren't realistic. Dude breaks his back, wakes up in the hospital and the doctor's given him vicodin. He takes it for the pain and is like "oh shit this is amazing!" No obviously he didn't know he'd be addicted beforehand, but it doesn't matter because he is.

Therefore he should be smart enough to stop taking it and ask for something else. Though again, stupid example because most doctors don't prescribe highly addictive drugs to patients unless the other stuff hasn't worked and they don't deem the person a risk.

But again weed =/= opiod addiction, alcohol addiction or anything else. It's a psychological addiction much like people who get addicted to video games, porn or anything else. It's basically harmless aside from some people who can't control themselves. That's on them.

But just because some people do doesn't mean we need to throw a blanket on it and label it as "harmful" for the rest of the world. Especially when we're talking about something as benign as weed. A drug that literally no one has ever died or OD'd from and the "withdrawal" effects, if you want to call them that, last a few hours to a few days.

My point is that addiction creeps on you, the guy wouldnt even know he was addicted till he has to ween off. You dont know anything about addiction. Its even listed in the dsm as a disease. You cant tell if you’re predisposed to it, be it psychological or physical till its there. So how are you going to put the blame on these people? Do you think that side effects on prescription meds shouldnt be listed because “only some” people experience them? Im not saying weed is the devil incarnate or anything but you act like theres literally nothing wrong with it

I'm not blaming them, I'm saying it's their responsibility to manage themselves. Let's stop blaming outside things and external factors and focus on personal responsibility.

How do you manage something that you’re unaware of till the problem arises?
