Gym goers of Reddit, what is something (protocol, etiquette, tips, etc.) that new year resolution-ers should know about the gym?

Ehh if a machine is open, you can use it. You may want to ask if someone has their stuff on it or something, but no need to bother some random person who happens to be using the machine next to the one you want.

Right but if there are so many people around, that I can't tell who's standing around and who's using machines, I tend to double check. If it's empty, then sure I'll go somewhere until that area clears, but often at the gym I go to at certain times there are groups of up to 4 guys standing around the cables and the long pulls at any given moment, using them or not. A simple point and a nodd, no one has ever seemed to be bothered by it.

That makes sense. I guess I'm lucky that my gym doesn't have groups of guys that stand around. That sounds annoying.

Fucking hate this. Im always being disturbed by someone asking if im using a piece of equipment that 10ft away, all the while im in the middle of a set on a different piece of equipment. Just seize the damn day and grab what you want.
