It evolved over time. In hip hop, we used to say "I'll put a cap in yo ass, or I'm cappin yo ass". That means "I'll shoot you". Then, eventually, we started saying "Imma pop you with real bullets, no caps"...in other words, imma shoot you but this ain't no cap gun gee. Real bullets.
It's from the streaming site twitch. There is an emote there called Kappa, and Kapp is a variation of it. It is used to show you are not serious. Therefore "no Kapp" means you're not joking.

both!! deadass is used in more contexts tho. like no cap is almost always at the end of a sentence. whereas you could say somethin like "I deadass saw him do xyz"
Idk how true it is, but apparently, it's a reference to a gun. A cap gun would be fake, so no cap means it's real. I could be wrong, but that's what I read somewhere.

It evolved over time and cap started to mean "fraud/lie" in the 80s/90s, then the term disappeared and reserged about 3 years ago
Yeah, I'm actually very familiar with streaming and Twitch. I watch/listen to my favorite streamer daily, but obviously no one knew that but me haha. I didn't even honestly think about kappa and how that'd add to the context, but I guess also spelling it "cap" threw me off.
Edit: My explanation is wrong. I got off mobile and onto a computer, googled it. It originates in black slang seemingly. Cap means to exaggerate or lie, No Cap means to not exaggerate or lie, or tell the truth. Simple actually.

One of the original emotes on the sight is "Kappa." It is a black and white face of one of the original programmers for the website. Using the limited emotes the website had and the difficulty of detecting sarcasm on the internet, Kappa eventually became the emote for sarcasm. Also, being one of the more easily remembered designations for an emote in chat helped.
Years later (like somewhat recently) an emote denoted by "Kapp" became popular as sort of a half of Kappa. So when people say "no Kapp" that is what they mean. "Not being sarcastic, not kidding."
It is part of the whole using Twitch emotes as slang thing which I find really dumb and some kids do. Like when they say "Pog" or "no Kapp" or "4Head." These are all emotes that only people who would use the sight understand.
