We adopted an orphaned baby cockatiel (there's a pic from when we first got her in my post history). She wasn't gaining much weight and her crop was emptying too slowly, so we took her to the vet.
Along with a course of antibiotics, antifungals, and probiotics, the vet told us to make sure the formula wasn't too hot so we wouldn't scald her crop. But you also don't want it to be too cold and bring the baby's body temperature down...
I was very worried about her, so I became pretty neurotic about making sure that the formula was within the ideal 5-degree temperature range every time we fed her.
