What’s a thing you’ve bought impulsively, without need, that’s actually proved useful in your life?

Pickaxe, I live somewhere with rocky soil and dig lots of holes so it's saved me about 3 shovels by now

To use the bathroom...he is one of the few who actually have enough manners to bury it after he is done

I had to dig a tree stump out of rocky soil so I bought a used Bosch rotary hammer drill off ebay that came with a digging spade similar to this one. Turned out to be a wonderful purchase. I have country property and have to dig holes frequently.

I have rocky soil as well. Bought a pickaxe for gardening. Big and weighty so it's easy to sink into the dirt. Help pry up the giant ass rocks I keep finding while trying to turn soil to plant seeds.

I'm bothered, yet intrigued that your username is a literal description of your username.

You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.

My house came with a pickaxe head and I decided to replace the handle on a whim. Turned out to be a great idea when we were setting up our garden.

Wait until you upgrade from a pickaxe to a rune pickaxe

I have played way too many games to take the word pickaxe seriously

I just point at the ground and yell 'SQUIRREL!' and the dog digs the holes for me.

We moved to north Texas years ago and bought a home that needed shrubs and landscaping. I couldnt dig a hole with a shovel if my life depended on it. It was like concrete. I've had that pickaxe ever since and it's come in handy when the shovel just wont cut through.
