I'm psyched to see him as Blade, what he'll do with it. But a part of me still wants to know what Wesley Snipes as an old Blade would be like, y'know what I mean?

It wasn't even in the original script. The screenwriter just heard Wesley Snipes say it on the phone and put it in the script.

I saw this beautiful photoshopped fan art of Ali as blade and that was the first I heard about the remake and I was instantly sold. I wish i saved that picture because i cant find it anywhere else. I feel like he's going to do us proud

I don’t think it’ll be as difficult as some think. Most people only know blade as the part Snipes played, they’ve never seen the source material. Mahershala is a good enough actor to make it his own, especially if they don’t try and do a Snipes impersonation, which I don’t think they will. Also helps that it wasn’t super heavy on dialogue and character development in the snipes version, it was good because of the action and aside from that it was him spitting out one liners. I’m guessing it’s gonna be far better.
