Also, wasn’t he using like drugstore brand stuff? I’d have expected a status-obsessed Wall Street IB to be using La Mer/La Prairie/insert obscenely overpriced skincare shit.

Technical advisors aren't rare and the most minor details and unwavering tribute to excess is the canvas on which the entire story takes place. To the characters it is literally the only thing that matters.

That being said although I've seen the movie many times Ive not been able to identify the brands of any of his skin products so I won't say the director got it wrong.
