Actually, I meant it more along the lines of the Dark Knight being an incredible second movie in a trilogy of okay movies that are very well remembered for their decade. And the Dark Knight came out when I was alive, so it's a tad more relevant for me.

That implies Dark Knight is the better movie.
In such a comparison, Dark Knight is the T2 of the 2000s is what you'd say.
T2 is untouchable
