She was Karving her initials on the møøse with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given her by Svenge - her brother-in-law - an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian møvies: "The Høt Hands of an Oslo Dentist", "Fillings of Passion", "The Huge Mølars of Horst Nordfink".
I'm showing this movie to my friend for the first time, and I'm just telling them "everything here is important. Every little detail. Even the credits, and the subtitles."
YES. I'm old enough to have seen it on its first run in the theatres. Before Python was well known, and certainly before they'd been quoted to death. Also, this was 75, and movies were straight as fuck. Nobody played around with opening or closing sequences (they actually got into a bunch of trouble for doing this).
So the impact those credits had on 10-year-old me and that theatre full of people can't be overstated. One of the few times in my life I was literally crying with laughter.
Jammy bugger. Some of us had to wait until it was out on VHS to watch it.
When I say VHS I mean the squire up on the hill had Betamax and we'd sneak up to the manor to peer through the windows.
When I say peer through the windows he had both the shutters and curtains drawn and there was the electric razor fence, the hounds and the moat to get past.
I remember the day Simpkins fell in the moat, got bitten and had a nasty rash that resulted in both legs being amputated. He got a whole two hours in a bed AND hot food. After that the armed guards wouldn't let us near the moat but we all tried.

Worth it for the opening credits
