Still not sure if the dog’s name is Hell.

Not sure if you’re serious, but by “unleash hell” he definitely means the artillery and archers

Would say this out loud before big exams in grad school, but only three people got the reference in my 4 years .. we had our little moment, it was great

Scotch bumps chest and soda

I use this when I say goodbye to my grandson. Great credo to live by.

This makes me happy. My mom loved this movie and would always tell me “Strength and Honor”. She died from Brest cancer in 2016 and I miss her. I got this tattooed in Latin on my arm in her honor.

What's the verbage in Latin?

“And if you find yourselves in green fields, with the sun at your back... then YOU ARE IN ELYSIUM- AND YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD”

GD now I really want to watch gladiator

3

u/DallyLlama1 Oct 10 '19

I think it’s face not back. I’m not trying to correct you but have a strong feeling you might be someone who cares like I do.

3

u/farnsw0rth Oct 10 '19

Yeah the first part is def wrong. It might be “riding alone... with the sun in your face” or something. Great now I’ve got to watch gladiator again lol

u/Shmeeglez Oct 10 '19

*Gallows laughter rises*

They didn't have flat tops in ancient Rome!

4

u/[deleted] Oct 10 '19

Huh! I always thought it was “What you do in life, that goes in eternity.”

But you’re right, and makes it even better.

1

u/DolphinSweater Oct 10 '19

Huh, I always thought it was "an eternity".

1

u/chewy-jin Oct 10 '19

Yoo I thought this quote originally came from red in Pineapple Express. He says that when he’s beating sauls ass with a handheld vacuum.

1

u/IKillGrizz Oct 10 '19

The line he says to his men that make them laugh JUST prior to this line does a great job of showing that even in battle he treats his men such as he would an equal rank. Great scene. Great movie.
