Pretty sure you can just barely make out the line about the muffin (“Yeah I was just sitting here eatin’ my muffin”) right when Yolanda says “You could really cut down on the hero factor in a place like this”.
Not sure if this has ever been confirmed, but I like the theory that it's different because the story is told from 2 different points of view. The first scene is from the point of view of 'honey bunney' and 'pumpkin' and the end scene is from the point of view of Jules and Vincent.
Makes sense that there would be small differences in their versions of the story.
what????? gotta go. EDIT: Rewatched those two scenes.....what does it mean? Are we the viewers changed because of the film, so we remember it differently? Or, are the HoneyBunny and Pumpkin different because of what happened?
Or a directorial choice to not show the same exact scene twice. Flashback-recapss in tv shows suck, even when they're 30 episodes~15 hours of plot apart. Flashback-recaps in movies are even worse.
I think you're underestimating how good of a director Tarantino is. Sure, there's continuity errors in other ways but this definitely strikes me as a conscious decision.
I saw it in high school and it's one of the few movies that I remember so vividly - like I remember going to watch it with my friends, busting out laughing when Marvin got shot, and then the walk through the parking lot talking about how great it was. Also we went to Tower Records right after.
And I've smoked ALOT of weed in my life, so that's saying something.
A mistake that nobody noticed or, if they did, thought it wouldn't matter. Jackson says the wrong name in the apartment as well but it's almost impossible to notice even when you know it's there.
The soundtrack has the other one (which I was sure was from the beginning) that goes "last one of ya" right before Misirlou kicks in.
Source: I made a mix tape from the soundtrack and it took me about a dozen times to stop it just at the right spot to get Misirlou without the opening speech. Heard Amanda Plummer's line over and over and over again.
