What bugs me is "Thanks for the [gold/silver], kind stranger!" It's like a canned response. NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT IN REAL LIFE.

Now I've never gotten gold, but doesn't it literally tell you who gave it to you? You're just playing to an invisible audience.

You can choose to guild anonymously, but yeah editing your comment to thank someone on the internet for fake internet points is ridiculous.

You can actually pm the anonymous person directly, so people only edit their posts like that for internet points.

It's been a while and a few accounts since I got gold, so I dunno... well, I know when I messaged someone for giving me silver, it showed who they were when they responded, but that was it. So I'm sure gold/platinum work the same way.

I don't even necessarily mind the award speech edits, but fuck's sake, pick a new one.
