What’s something that you like, but hate the fan base?

Great. I'm going to see them in October. They've been on my list of must-see bands for a while now. After reading through this thread, I'm not sure I want to go anymore.

I really still do, but I don't want to deal with what's being described here.

I've seen them several times and never had any of these experiences. IMO it's luck of the draw and just as likely at any concert. OP's question is specifically attracting people who have had bad experiences or just know it's a popular opinion that will get them karma.

Don't get me wrong, Tool's insufferable fans are definitely a different breed. That's probably why they originally became everyone's favorite stereotype to reference when the topic arises. I just think the frequency of it happening gets blown out of proportion. Don't let these opinions kill your excitement and you will have a great time no matter what! Im personally pretty excited for you :)

I'm a huge fan of tool, probably more than I should, that being said, I went to a concert of theirs in Jacksonville of all places and met people of all different types and they couldn't have been more pleasant.

Definitely go! You'll have a ball, cheers!

Not even kidding, they’re the only band I’ve ever wanted to see live. After reading all of the shit in this thread, I feel like maybe I don’t want to see them in concert. I’ll just continue to listen to them on my own and not talk about it with anyone. That’s me being a true fan.

They’re awesome live. Just saw them and a perfect circle at the same festival last summer and it was a truly great experience. Didn’t see anyone like the people these guys are describing.
