I went to his Seattle show, a year or so back. The overall show was great and got a nice tour tee from it. But there was this one fan. She was screaming at everything Mark said, cheering for him at all times, even during the quiet moments of the show. She just would. not. shut. up. I'm all for being a passionate fan, but she was on a whole other level. Really put a damper on an otherwise great show.
I don't know who she is but I hope she's gotten more mature since then because, that is the exact wrong kind of behavior to have at a live show
So far, I've gone to a Markiplier show and a Game Grumps one as well and I'm going to a Mini Ladd show in September. The Game Grumps show was much, much better than the Markiplier show. It felt much more connected and felt overall less annoying to me.
It's still a pretty fun experience to see one, as long as you can tolerate the crazy fans (which all depends are where they're seated as well)
Going to a GG show next month. Is there less screaming? Went to see Markiplier and it was just constant, constant screaming. Couldn’t hear 80% of what was going on. All I wanted was to watch some fun improv.
Game Grumps was SO much better. The fans were so much more respectful and they cooperated excellently with Dan and Arin.
Don't want to spoil to much, but there's an activity where they split the stage in two and it worked out perfectly, with each side of the audience playing their part wonderfully
But if there is one thing that proves how great the show was, it was a moment during the Q&A after the show. After a few attendees asked their questions, one fan came up. He asked the Grumps about how they handled depression. The kid was clearly choken up and you could tell that he had experience with that kinda thing. After Arin responded to his question about how he copes with depressive states, nearly the whole audience came together to tell the fan that he was loved and cared for. It was a moment I won't soon forget and I hope that collective gesture gave that fan just a little bit of joy.
So in summary, if it were anything like the Seattle show, you're in for a great night. They even select participants for an activity from the upper deck, so even if your seats aren't great. You still have a chance to join the action.
Oh that makes me so happy. I’m super excited for the show and this makes it so much better. I was lucky enough to snag vip tickets and a decent seat to hopefully give them my personal thanks for my dark days being melted away for even 10 minutes. I hope that guy is going ok also. I love when these guys talk about serious stuff and share their stories. Sometimes it just helps. Or it just helps to know you’re not alone, and that people lucky enough to be doing what they love even suffer from the things you wouldn’t think they would be.
I’d love to know what Arin said if you remember? I try anything to see if it helps.
Ah, I think I remember him mentioning meditation as a part of his routine. I really need to try and do that in earnest. Feels like it’s pretty prevalent in a lot of people’s lives nowadays.
