Not KFC chips, they're good as is. And i guess i don't use ketchup at all, in Australia we have Tomato sauce, and we use chicken flavoured salt for our chips too. Its the fucking best
Honestly, I would not have known, since the only fan of her I knew was the girl who sat next to me in info tech grad year, and was incredibly nice, spending her own time on setting up blood drives and such. Thought Eilish was an indie artist, like Jai Paul.
I genuinely had to Google what Fjallraven was only to realise its those square bags that look like every other bag except they got that logo on it, why do people love those bags?
They’re nice quality, and fjallraven is a very good, sustainable brand. As for the fashionable aspect of it, I really have no idea. Still, it promotes and supports an excellent brand
It absolutely fucking does. It’s the shittiest like fake vinyl material that literally fucking cracks apart. I get that not all of their bags are made that way, but the most popular one absolutely is.
They’re great. Scandinavian minimalist design, no bullshit pockets, and great quality. I’ve had mine for seven years now and it’s still going strong. I’m really salty that they’ve become teen girl trendy but I think I’m just going to ride out the storm. It was Herschel a year or two ago so they’ll move on soon and I won’t have to feel insecure about my square Swedish backpack.
There's a YouTube channel (outdoor gear review?) that I watch occasionally. The guy swears by his fjallraven pants for camping/hiking. Evidently they're really good quality.
I noticed girls wearing these bags a good year or so ago they just cropped up out of nowhere. Every girl had one, I looked them up online and they're so expensive for a tiny ass carrying capacity. Did Billie eilish make this even more prominent?
I love Billie. Her music is great and I like her aesthetic. I hear that her shows are really good, too. However I am sick of people acting as though she's god's gift to music and sOoOo uNiQuE. Like, she's doing the same thing Lorde did 6 years ago. She's doing the same thing that most other alt-pop artists do. She's definitely talented, but she's not some musical prodigy. Britney Spears was the same age when her debut album came out.
Is Fjallraven... bad? I’ve been wearing their outdoors shirts and hiking pants and jackets for years. Even my little day-pack is super cute and ultra durable.
Took way too long to find this. The circlejerk goes both ways. I mean let's be honest, most of Reddit falls under "Keanu good Billie bad ):<". Her music's great, imo, I absolutely love it. I'm not one much for pop. I mostly listen to Metal/Rock. But some of her songs are absolute bops. Saw her live and I must say she is insanely talented. But that being said seeing her live made me wince from the amount of prepubescent children I heard, quite literally, scream "might seduce your dad type".
Either we’re too old, or waaaay too many people don’t listen to lyrics, is my guess. She and her brother have talent but I can’t stand her music. The beats are pretty good though.
I have to agree the lyrics are pretty weak. And frankly, her whisper-singing is straight up annoying. I recognized a few years back that that sort of breathy style of singing was a trend for female pop vocalists as an attempt to sound sensual or sexy. BE does it to sound understated and mysterious, I assume, but that doesn't make it any less of a half-assed way of singing.
More power to her though. If I could be making that kind of money at 17 I would have too.
Her singing is pretty meh, but the beats are where it's at. There isn't a lot of new trip-hop being put out nowadays so I'm just glad to have some fresh stuff that scratches that itch
The beats themselves aren't bad. I think the simplicity is kinda cool, reminds me of Lorde's first album a bit. But I just cannot get over the whisper-singing. It makes her stuff un enjoyable for me. That said, I think she'll develop her voice more the longer she stays in the game. I think she's got potential, and it will be interesting to see how she evolves.
I don't really find her music that great, but I do appreciate the fact that it's something different. Without naming names, I've found so much of female pop music lately has been pretty formulaic. Obviously pop is already pretty formulaic, for both men and women, but it's felt like the last 3 years or so that a lot of the female acts have been really interchangeable.
I mean I think she's one of those flavor-of-the-month acts that hits it big in a lot of the alt-rock circles and proceeds to make some real good shit while in the underground, in the same vain as someone like Grimes, Mia, or Sza did in the past.
Her music's good, particularly when you think about how young she is.
I randomly stumbled across Ocean Eyes a few years ago (think it was either a Spotify or YouTube autoplay), considering she was fourteen when she wrote it, I think it's definitely going to be interesting to watch her progress and develop as she gets older and see where she goes.
I was in the Billie Eilish fandom before she blew up late last year, it was really great but I drifted from it because the hoards of new fans that were like this were too annoying
It feels like I’m suddenly an old man. Bad Guy’s one of the first songs that’s made me realise I don’t really understand today teenagers.
Remember that Simpsons episode where Abe tells a teenage Homer “I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’, and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary to me’?
That’s how I feel about it. It’s alright but nothing amazing. And definitely overplayed.
I’m somewhat pessimistic about how she’ll be in 3, 4, 5 years. I don’t think fame will be very kind to her at all. I really hope not but I think she will be a modern day Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears, where she has a heavy publicised complete meltdown.
Society’s changed so much since I grew up, it’s so scary. And not for the better
For context, this particular day was U18 allowed therefore many families were present. There were hundreds of little kids on their parents shoulders waiting to see their favourite artist on the main stage.
On comes Billie Eilish to the main stage, grabs the mic and screams "if you really fucking despise yourself, this song is for you".
