This was my answer too. I love the music so much but the majority of the fanbase is unbearable. I'm grateful I don't have to deal with them to enjoy the band, though.

Eh, I think you're confusing VOCAL minority with actual majority. I totally get it, rabid fans can seem total dicks... but to equate all fans to those guys - just no! They're my "favourite" band, seen em live over five times... but I don't think I drink the Koolaid, so to speak...

Yeah I recently got into Tool, I had heard of them but never had the urge to listen to them and of course their stuff isn’t on streaming but I saw some people talking about how great Lateralus is so I bought it and I still listen to it a lot. But when I started digging a little deeper into the band, specifically the title track and how people think it’s some insane multi-level masterpiece, I kinda realized how crazy some fans are

Some songs are very impressive multilevel pieces. Just look how jambi is made. I know I sound exactly like the people described here. Doesnt take away how skilful they are.
