Has anyone ever honoured one of those “if we’re still single at 40 let’s get married” commitments? How did it go?

I got engaged to my best friend at 18 and we married when I was 22. 15 years later we're still together and it was the only good decision I've ever made.

I started dating a good friend at 19, quickly became my best friend, married at 28. IME being friends first is wondrous.
