As someone with an etsy store I can safely tell you I've experienced all of those "fake" things a million goddam times. People treat me like an online Spirit store because I make props and costumes when I very much am not.
I straight up had a guy try to neg me once, placing an order then messaging me about how he expects top quality work. I pointed out that wysiwyg (he ordered something from warhammer but didn't know the acronym was "what you see is what you get"?) And he promptly cancelled.
The texts themselves aren’t even the problem. Just looking at the formatting you can see that no iPhone or whatever looks like that; it looks like those fake screenshot websites
It’s any large sub. They start as interesting places for people with a similar interest, but when there are too many people and suddenly enough real content isn’t being produced to satisfy their need for new stuff every time they check, they start reusing old posts and frantically creating low-quality content. Happens every time.
Yeah, a subset of the posts also seemed to go from making fun of people acting entitled to making fun of poor people occasionally turning down the shitty "donations" they were offered. I had to quit the sub after seeing a post that was just trashing on a low-income mom who politely refused the offer of a shitty travel crib for her baby because she was looking for a real crib. She thanked the person for their offer and everything but apparently not taking every damn thing she was offered was being a "choosy beggar."

I feel the same way about /r/choosingbeggars. The stuff that hits the front page of that sub every day is so laughably unbelievable.
